Thread: Asking to change havester power. Please read and give feed back.
That's the beauty of it though. It doesn't actually have to exist. The datapad would store the resource concentration, the power reserves, and the maintainence reserves and calculate how much should be there at the time. It would just have to update those stats when you add power or maintainence, and of course a quick check to make sure the resource still exists.
As it is now, I can see the concentration, I know how fast it extracts, the rate at which power and fees are consumed and how much I put in. I could, in theory, write a third party program that isn't even part of SWG that would make calculations based on these variables, and be pretty darn accurate.
The harvesters themselves probably do the same thing code-wise. It wouldn't make very much sense to run a counter in the backgroud that increments every couple of minutes for every harvester in game and every stat on those harvesters.
For truely remote management, you would need a droid team. Hopefully, they will impliment new droids capable of programming to do harvester work (isn't that what 3PO/R2 were slated for? The south ridge by morning...). Until then, you can remote view what needs to be done on the harvester, but will still have to run out there.
A true business owner will have a staff that does the work load while he runs the company via paper and golf LOL
OA
I'd like to see these features also. If not exactly as written here then something close. I'd really like it if there was a new type of droid that could do the harvesting work too or maybe a module add-on for an existing model.
