Thread: Asking to change havester power. Please read and give feed back.
I think all havesters should state how much they need a dayin addition to the other infor the mantince gives. I also think the power section should tell you the same info that the manrice gives something like this:
Mantice:[700cr/day)1400 cr payed (2 days)
Power [620power/day) 640 power (2 days, 1hour, 4 min).
This way I can tell how much I need in to keep the numbers together.
AND, as long as we're asking... I think you should be able to check status and hopper contentsremotely via your datapad. If you know the concentration, and how long it's been running, you should be able to calculate it. Why can't your datapad? It should bean additional tab. "Structures" or something.
Include the ability to set up alarms on it for low power or maint, and a big red "Stopped" status, and it would be much appreciated.
I hate having to whip out my calculator and set up an alarm when it should (IMO) be a feature anyway. ![]()
I absolutely agree with both of these requests! I've wondered why if you can craft a device with the ability to harvest minerals, you can't craft a component for it that would feed your datapad live updates concerning the power and maint. status and even the mineral density (since the machine seems able to determine that too). I can see no reason why these items shoud not be on the Devs list of coming updates, can you, Devs?

I also have to put in my two cents. That is one of the best Ideas that I have seen posted on the boards. Devs please take this to heart.
I have always envisioned the Artisans as true business people that try not to waste time on needless things. Making rounds everyday as a Engineer or Master Artisan really seems silly to me.
Just add a "Burst Transmitter" spec to the Master Artisan, and make it an optional box on all new harvester deeds. That would give the MA'smore business too. You wouldn't NEED to have it, but it would be really nice. This and you wouldn't have an issue of making all the old harvesters backwards compatible with the feature.
I was also thinking that a harvester placed adjacent to apower generatorshould be able to draw power directly from it. The harvester would stay at 0 reserves and the power generator's hopper would only fill with the energy above and beyond what the harvesters are using. You could still add a "buffer" of power to the harvester that wouldn't get used unless the flow from the power generatorstopped. (Due to resource depletion or lack of maint. fees paid on the power generator). Think of it as being connected directly to the powersource.

What about a new tool artisans can make that lists your items such as harvesters/power generators along with all the maintenance costs neccessary, hopper capacity, status, etc...
Forgot to add:
-------------------
I wouldn't expect to be able to transfer contents out of the hopper remotely, just control of the machine. I mean, come on -Homes in the here-and-now are wired to do a lot of stuff. It's not hard to imagine a galaxy as advanced as the one that Star Wars is set in can't be at least as equally as us....
Yeah, I think it should have been implemented. I don't remember seeing it on the beta boards, but I'll keep my beta attitude and suggest new features.
Mako - Are you the DE from the same area of Bria from Beta? You may want to add your title to your shop coords... ![]()

One of the Big Red names already mentioned they're going to look at the power reading under status giving an easier to understand message....
And I definetely would love to see a way to check the status remotely, perhaps a new deivice for someone to build? But I don't know how much coding it would require, some of the other developer's posts indicate this isn't as easy as it sounds, since nothing "exist" in the game unless there's someone close to see it.. it just fakes it really well.
