I am currently a MBH/Mcarbineer/CM 4xxx and I cannot seem to kill any jedi.
I have been thinking about going MBH/MCM/Rifleman i think its either 4xxx or xxx4 since it seems to be working well for others but I am not sure. Does anyone have some advice for me, like a new template that seems to work well for you?
I am very successful with MBH/MRM/CM4xxx. But then I've been a bounty hunter a long time, and been a master rifleman far longer than that. I know both professions inside and out. I WAS a MBH/MRM/NovSmug and then a MBH/MRM/4xx4Pistoleer prior to making the switch to CM. I just simply needed to be able to heal myself. But then I don't heal myself much in combat as it is....
You sound like you may just need to practice. Hunting Jedi is not the best idea for that because it's costs money in time and effort and droids, foods, etc. I've had good success "training" Bounty Hunters by hooking them up with a successful BH of their same template and having the senior teach the junior, and also by using guild Jedi as sparring partners. They will be able to tell you what works, what doesn't what MIGHT work against them.
Further, maybe you could post your stats on equipment, foods, etc and tactics. Often times, it comes down to simple things like having better armor, a better gun, better food combination, or just plain old tactics.
Any new Bounty Hunter who drives right up to 25m and engages an "alert" Jedi is asking for a beating. The majority of the Bounty Hunters who are successful are sneaky. They use our first strike opportunity to it's fullest advantage. A good Bounty Hunter's mark will be shocked when the initial volley comes, and need to scramble to prepare for the ensuing fight. That 30 seconds to one minute is where I get the majorty of my kills. I rarely, if ever directly attack an "alert" Jedi anymore.
The kill just feels better if lay in wait, or engineer a situation to catch them off guard. Like joining their grinding group, laying in wait at a shuttle/spaceport for them to return from grinding, etc. Try to be sneaky! We ARE the "scum of the universe" afterall! ![]()
Yah that might advisable to wait. Snares might change. And the Carb snare Sux. But i was MBH/Master Carb. Hated it. Got owned almost everytime. Now im MBH/MCM/pistolsxxx3 and loving it. I think most of my problem with carb was running out of action and using Energy guns which Jedi use energy PSG's so almost no damage to them. But i like my template now and i will call it home for a while i think. IUse Kinetic all the time for these guys now. Sometimes i use proton for distance it helps with the cold damage.

thats one problem i have, i dont know what good food combos are for fighting jedi and as a battle/assualt armor wearer I cant get high energy resist. any advice in that direction maybe instead of a full temp change?
Rifles are very expensive also.... at least for the really GOOD ones.
In your travels though you might want to run the Fallan Hyper rifle quest, and/or the Trandoshan Hunter's Rifle quests. Both rifles have a higher SAC, but are EXCELLENT rifles to own.
