Thread: Jetpacks

There is a logic in all this, if you can follow me:

Hyperspace travel: Effortless and relatively cheap

Antigravity surface travel: Amazingly cheap, available to everyone

Talking droids with complex personalities: Available to everyone for the right price

Track down a target anywhere in the galaxy in 5 minutes: Relatively cheap and available to those with proper training.

Laser weapons: Not quite as good as beating somebody down with a stick, but available if you feel you need to.

Jetpacks: Far too complex for scientists of this area. Makes perfect sense to me...

Thats the problem, they're fragile, and the fights over who gets it is ridiculous.

If a jedi gets a lightsaber and the ability to just craft it, then why do we not have the abilty to have our armor and jetpack and craft it? Fine. if it's going to be fragile then make it more easily obtainable. A jedi can walk into any shop and buy crystals and pearls, we cant just walk into a shop and buy our components.

Give a Master BH the armor, make special AAs specific for the Armor the drops, ie. LS resist AA's with varying resists, BH enhanced Carbine Speed, accuracy etc.

Our guild (I'm in the same guild as this guy) crafted what? 6-7 jet packs? The only extremely hard part of the DWB is doing the miner's quest once. After that all it takes is the right connection to pull of a team that can follow orders. Our fastest run ever was one crafted jet pack in 45 minutes (took an hour to collect people though, crafter,4-5 tanks, one cm, a few damage dealers and 5 Jedi).

I'd really recommend no asking for the jetpack quest to be any easier. I mean just look at Jedi: everyone says its not hard, only time consuming. The last thing I want is for Jet packs to become common all over the galaxy like everything else (that would be dull). I mean aside from the DWB currently there is nothing that is really hard in the game so might as well protect that precious content, hehe.

For those that are worrying about Jet packs being fragile: they auto-store as soon as you get off it (that includes being stopped by patrols or KDed by npcs). So as long as you don't use it in pvp its a cool thing to have (just don't use it while overt or with a Jedi, that would be just dumb).

Definately don't use it on Endor, those NPCs always aim for the bike.

I was finally apart of a group that crafted one. Everyone in the group got to fly it once for a bout 2 minutes. THen it was taken by the group leader and is now stored collecting dust. Ill probably never see it again. And Ill probably never have my own.
Ive been a MBH for 1 and a half years. And Its all I ever want to be. Sadly Ill never have my own Jetpack or Mando armor. ITs too rare and valuable to be given to one group member out of 20 that helped get it. These items are destined to rot in PA halls.
I could unlock jedi 50 times but Ill never have a jet pack or mando armor to call my own.
Why cant these things be quest based rewards? That MBH can work towards. I dont care if you make the grind millions of Investigation XP. Just something that at least I can achieve in this lifetime.
Perhaps a MBH cant even take the quest until hes logged in 6 months or more of time in the profession and then he still needs to cash in Investigation XP at the DWB or directly to Boba fett in Jabba's palace?
Wow content... THat would be neat

Or, you could stop complaining, make a group of 20 and make 20 jetpacks. No you will never own a jetpack if your not willing to work for it.

Corbantis probably has 40+ jetpacks, and about 2 sets of mandolorian. Ive helped craft alot of jetpacks... and they just arent worth the time it takes collecting parts, and getting a team to run down there (with a DE, combat medic, a dozen swordsman...)

ROFL Taking Jedi to help build a BH Jetpack.

Yeah boys and girls, thats what its come to. It's not only bad enough our Jetpacks are fragile, but people take Jedi to help them get it.

No lets do make it easy and only usable by MBH, it wouldn't be dull. I think what people would hate is the value would go down and they wouldn't be able to sell them for as much. How much do you sell them for? I know all those people aren't going out of sheer joy and the gift of giving.

Last I recalled when we made them, they are just *jet packs* not *bh jet packs*, they are just really fancy and expensive speeders. It is possible to create an entirely non Jedi team if you are very, very, very selective about which templates that you allow to join but its a pain in the neck and asking people to retemplate to go to the DWB is not cool. Jedi deal a lot of damage but have a glass jaw in there making them completely dependent on tanks for safety and healers for emergencies. On the other hand they do deal out more damage then any other class against SBDs and that in turn minimises the damage done to our tank's armors and medics stims (they do appreciate not breaking a whole composite armor set per run because SBDs go down quickly).

As for your question about how much we sell them for: we don't. We make Jetpacks for those that have the pieces for them (if they took the time to camp the spawn) and for our members or allies. Buffs are provided free of charge when the group is gathered (heck, I'm usually the one providing them) and all that people have to do is have fun on the ride. And we have people that are having one heck of a blast because finally they are in a tense pve situation that cannot easily be done and requires teamwork.

It is actually a very good sight to see so many different professions working together for the same cause. Also the fun part is that even with the best team something can always go wrong and those provide very exciting moments for everyone. Sometimes we win, sometimes the mandalorians win, either way though we have fun.

a Jetpack is not a bounty hunter only item. A jetpack isn't required for you to do your job and level. You can walk into a shop a buy jetpack parts from a loot vendor.

Oh and one more thing. Have you guys ever seen those sigs that are lines of text and look like they are a part of the post?

Yeah, I wish I had millions to finance a team to get this. Maybe that is the content. Old School big game hunts where they hire 20 soldiers to shoot the rhino, and then just before it dies the Aristocrat Hunter walks up and gives it the Death Blow.

I'd have to add by Master Commandos as well. I know currently anyone can use them. DWB is fun, I just see humor in Jedi working with BHs.
