Thread: Help? Pricing on Resources, Need Income
Hey... Okay, I've found some awesome resources, like some Aluminum with an overall of 868, and Malleability of 923 I believe, I can't make anything of true use out of them yet, however, I have about 70 units... how much would they sell for on the Bazaar? I'm an Entertainer on the side and I'm having trouble making money, any money making tips? (Other than buy items at the bazaar and sell them at an up-scaled price... seems just wrong to me.)
Thanks!

There is an easy way to make cash, you just need to be able to cope with the boredom.
Do delivery missions. If you do not have enough cash to purchase a transport to another city (110 creds approx), start with the lowest cash payout delivery missions. They will be deliveries within the same city.
Once you have a little cash, open up your planet map. Pick the furthest city away from your current one, and note how far away it is. Then go to a mission terminal and look at the details of the delivery missions. Keep looking until you find a mission that has a destination of around the distance you noted earlier. Take two of these missions (I think two is the most you can start). Go to the two starting NPCs, buy your transport ticket, wait for the shuttle, and transport to the town where your destinations are. Visit the two destination NPCs and collect your cash. And repeat.
I am on Tatooine, and travelling between Mos Espa and Mos Eisley brings in about 700 creds a mission. 2 missions at a time, minus the cost of the transport means each trip gets me about 1300 creds. It takes about 10 minutes if you catch the transport right. 10 minutes wait maximum for the transport.
The payout isn't bad, the time taken isn't bad, but it is very boring. But I have to pay the maintenance fees on my harvesters somehow!
AJWPC - I'd love too, but they're bugged so that the "400" credit missions have delivery points to another freaking planet which costs 550 - 600 credits to travel to.However, I have been doing the little missions and receiveing tips... just can't really expect to get that much too quickly I suppose. Thanks everyone. If I ever get to that location, I'll be sure to check out those sweet minerals. Thanks again, if you need to relax and you're on Talus, come up to Nashal and relax at the Cantina, we usually have a great band playing there!

Maclava,
I don't see anything wrong with buying low and selling high on the bazaar. If people are dumb enough to post items for ridiculously low prices then you deserve the credits for recognizing value and profiting from it.
Yesterday I bought a military backpack for 100 credits and sold it for 1000 credits. I didn't feel bad at all because people selling extremely low are wrecking the market for the other artisans.
Okay, forgot to add this in, While that is helpful, any suggestions on how to make a significant amount of money? I'm ready to advance in skills, with 3 credits to my name... I have a bit of every resource, any crafted items that sell exceedingly well or anything to that sort, Literally any tips would be appreciated. (You can only play your Slitherhorn & Fizzz for so long before you grow tired and end up with a 50 credit tip after the day) hehe, thanks!

Hmm... If you wish to view people as dumb for not quite understanding what is "standard" on a completely player driven economy, that's one way to look at it. However, if you were to put this is retrospec to our world and time, $1,000 backpacks? They better be able to fasten onto me automatically every morning and double as a rock climbing tool that latches itself up and down with "hidden" cable supports, as well as a parachute section that you can utilize after jumping off that cliff you just climbed and eating a sandwich you stored in that backpack.
Again, you're right in thinking, "Dude, it's only a game." All too true, that's why I still play, but it's just tough to know what's acceptable and what isn't in pricing when it's roughly 500,000 people setting the economy when some see a credit as $1, or others see it as $5, or others see it as $100. Game on and hopefully they're work out delivery missions that stay on the planet Talus from one city to the other so this won't be a problem. Tips are continually getting smaller and smaller in the performing world.
Take care.
There is a market that I think most of us are overlooking. Medics. The meds use organics and inorganics. Anyone who's played a medic for any amount of time knows that medical forage bites. So if youhave some slack time, forage upsome organics and offer them to medics.
I personally cut them a break, charging 1cr per unit. But then I don't sell less than 1k units.
And another thing, while you are out there sampling, craft! Open up your craft tool and make some weapon powerups. I've sold some in the wilderness to passing marksmen. If you don't sell any, you can destroy them, or save a couple for personal use, or to give away to friends.
A couple of my scout friends supply me with bones/hides, my cost? 2 breastplates to them. Everything else goes to the bazaar.
Selling resources works as an income producer. I've been selling medium to decent quality metals for 6 credits per unit. Average quality resources sell for 4-5 credits and low quality or low demand resources for 3-4 credits each. You need to have decent size stacks, 200 or more to make it worthwhile for your customer as they will lose less for oddlots. What sells specifically? Any organic, wind energy (I charge 1 Credit per on this), minerals that may not be so in demand for artisans work well for medics. Water. In short almost anything you can harvest in bulk will be useful for at least 3 credits per unit, at least where I live. If you have decent survey skills you can harvest 3K worth of stuff while you wash the dishes wash the car.
