Last few days ive been trying to figure this out... Well what good is an Artisan aside being able to make 3 things other people dont..
sure the survey IV is nice when your on say talus looking for a decent spot for water or something like that where its hard to find an open area...
But heres my next question and i decided to start a new thread for it
Does anyone think Artisan is worth being in the long run?
currently im a tkm/artisan master cuz i like to tank (and im very good at it) and i like to craft..
however ive been thinking.. what good is it.. i can make the items... put em in crates and (say make 200-300 of each) and they will slowly sell over the next 6 months...
Does anyone think the Expansion will actually add anything to make an Artisan more desired?
i mean 5 items noone else can make is kinda pathetic (talking about 5 items people actually want) the only special orders ive ever done have been for memory units.. control units and GP units... thats kinda sad, you goto an architect for a harvestor.. noone uses the persional ones anymore.
Any feedback would be nice... ive been thinking of heading to tailor, but if the expansion is going to offer a little more for an artisan maybe ill stay as one..

It's up to you, of course, but I made quite a nice living selling Artisan products only.
Many Artisan foods are pretty good, especially with an investment in some BE additives. Crafting tools and repair kits sell well, vehicles are good, and, as you note, components for others.
I sell as many travel packs as I can make!
I even pick up some money on side surveying waypoints for folks to put their harvesters.

Damien, once again ill bring this up.. you can make an av-21 for a total cost of 2.6 mil... and you only make 400K on them... not to mention a chance to lose it all with a critical failure. how is that worth the time? if you can explain that to me please do, because 2.6 mil to make 400K isnt really worth it for me... i make better money with my harvs...

I'll just say this. I make between 1.5 and 2 million on every one I sell. I sell between 1 and 6 a day. Dont know what your doing wrong mate.OH, and the chance of critical failure? I have made tons of these and have never ever ever had a critical failure. I use the best cake and port on Eclipse server

Ok, call me slow, but are you saying there are foods that increase your crafting skills? If so PLEASE tell me the names. I have the brandy and canapes for mind that I use when fighting. Those are great. So if I can get a point or two of experiment with food I'll make sure to stock up.

Sure, You must ignore the spelling though
I suck at remembering how to spell things. The "cake" is Pollian cake(or something like that) and you will eat one of these before you actually construct the item, eat it right after you load the resources in, thats what I do. Then there is Bespin Port(very expesive in most cases) This is a drink, I wait till I get to the option page to experiment. Take one drink for every experiment process you do. I use between +11 and +12 Cake and Port, I dont think they make better. Hope this helps a little.

That drink is very good though, only time ive failed is my first 3-4 experimentation attempts, and with it.. you can get past those

artisan is a base profession soi dont know what you expect from it. we make the best money out of all the base professions. when compared to an elite profession we dont seem so great but artisan will hold you over till you mastered your elite profession and even after that,it can benefit you greatly, even ifitsjust for a source of easy app.

The one smart thing the devs did was make Artisan central to a number of issues. Powerups, repair kits, vehicles and ESPECIALLY fireworks!

Hi all, just made Master Artisan last night and first time reading this forum.... but uh... what is the point of Fireworks anyway? I can launch the regular Fireworks... wheee. But can't get the kit to do anything.
FWIW I do pretty well w/ Melee power-ups cause no one else seems to make many.

I get the powerplants for free with my combat alt. If you know the corvette, you can do it in about 10 minutes while hitting all the containers.

I must say that I make a great living as a Master Artisan just by selling powerups for 2000/crate. I gross over 1 million credits per week and I am always running low on the powerups. The trick is to find where they sell best. I have a vendor in the South Coronet Mall on Naritus and I do very well. My suggestion is to find the hot mall on your server and request to put a vendor in. Best thing I ever did...
