When you open up your survey tool it lists a few metals that are available to survey. Are those results what's available on the whole planet? If I went to another city would I find different metals available?

The mineral survey tool doesn'tshow all the minerals in the game. Does it just show what's in the region, or the planet, or something else enirely differant?

Anyone know a place to find resource locations? (actuall cords)

When you open your mineral survey device, the tree listing shows all minerals currently available on the planet. You may or may not be close enough to a concentration to detect any when you use the survey command.

Resources exist, spawn, and deplete on a planet-by-planet basis. If your favorite concentration of Ami copper dries up, all the Ami on the planet is gone. There may still be some available on other planets.

Various websites attempt to keep track of current resource spawns. Since few spawns last more than a week, some less than 48 hours, and every server has a different list, I rather doubt these websites are able to maintain accurate information. Its simpler just to use your survey devices in game. Keeping a few contacts on other planets besides the one you most commonly frequent can savea lot of travel expense;just send your buddy a tell (e.g /t bob Hey Bob, Ami just dried up on Tatooine, is there any left on Corellia?)

Is the NAME of a resource always have the same stats?

Like, If I have "Boliite" "Frasium Carbonate Ore" will all the numbers for this ore always be the same regardless of where on a planet (or other planets) I go to?

If so, is there a list of all the resource types and numbers?

They have always been the same for me. They'd almost have to be, because it will autostack when you mine it. And I doubt the devs wanted to deal with the headache of autostacking materials with different stats.

My guess is that they are randomly generated once and then stuck in the database of available materials for the AI to place on the worlds. So no matter where it gets placed it will always have the same stats.

As far as a list of materials. I have started making a database as i mine them. But it's not online, I have no way to host it. Also I've only gotten about 60 different materials (i don't go out to survey just to find out what the stats are. I just mine what I cuerrently need to craft with)

Also, on a side note, I think they nerfed the success chance for surveying in this big patch. I now fail 75% of my attempts with my new char at survey 2. Yesterday I was getting about a 75% success at this same level. Seems like an aweful big change to just chalk up to random luck :shrugs: I guess I'll have to do like everyone else and macro it while I'm at work. Manual mining is now impossible to get any useful amount.

When you tell the harvester to destroy itself, a small box will come up which tells you if this action will actually destroy the harvester (it goes away permanently), or unbuild it and restore the deed to you. If all the numbers are in green the deed will be restored to you. In order for all the numbers to be green, you need to have maintenance paid up to the point of including the redeeding cost, which is dependent on the size of harvester which you have.

Actually, another thing to do is check and see what other resources your harvester is sitting on. Instead of moving the harvester, you may be able to just choose a different resource to harvest. Even if the resource density is not at its highest where the harvester is, it may not be worth it to pull up the harvester just to move it a few 100 meters.
