Thread: Apprenticeship Experience?
I have looked a little bit ahead at master artisan and I would like to know how do you obtain Apprenticeship Experience?
There must be a better way then juts teaching other people.
It's actually a pretty good way. The experience needed is comparatively low.
I haven't found anyone to teach my level IIIs to yet, but level I nets you 20 experience, and II gets you 30, so I imagine it scales up by 10s. A couple dozen people over a week or two, and you've got it, easy.
OK it is a neat concept but there are many things about it i dont like. How do people who are slower at getting the skills the people you are teaching who do they teach? it will be really hard for them making it harder to becom master artisan or any proffression that branches off from artisan. As the game moves on and there is less and less new people who do we teach?
Well, remember that the game is built on the concept that you can alter the skills your character has at any time. People will tweak the skills their character has all the time, dropping old ones they don't want, picking up new ones they want to try...
There'll be plenty of new people for a long time, be it people just starting, people starting new characters, or the aforementioned people shifting their points around. That coupled with the fact that you don't really need that many apprenticeship points really shouldn't make this an issue for a VERY long time

I don't know that this is whats intended, but if you have a friend who is using a different proffession than you, it would be a simple matter to have him get novice in whatever tree, and have him train and delete a simple skill. say survey 1 for example
when you have the requisite apprentice exp he can delete the unneccessary tree. This however is a much bigger pain in the butt than just hanging out in a large crowd and announcing what you can train.

Like Viper i really do not like this since it essentially rewards those players that level more quickly. There will be many teaching possibilities lost when players who cannot find in a timely mannter (right away) someone to teach them a skill and they simply turn to an NPC trainer to learn their skill. The concept of apprenticeship was a nice one. But the implementation leavesa bad taste in my mouth.
It won't be fun at all when I try to become a master only to realize that I have not been lucky enough to teach many students, thereby preventing me from advancing. And what is the basic reason that I wouldbe prevented from advancing? Because many potential students simply paid the NPC trainer to learn their skills. To alleviate this problem there should be a way to purchase apprenticeship points, just like it's possible to purchase training rather than being taught.
Apprenticship xp is easy to get if you hang around town, I've already maxed mine out. Just keep you chat bar open and you'll see plently of people should out their needs. Also, if your in a hurry you can shout out offers.
