Thread: BER 25 Fusion Generators?

Before a fix by the devs, fusion generators (and other harvesters, I believe) were capable of enourmous extraction rates, (27 BER is the best i've seen), and were prooving to mine far too many resources, and creating a glut in the market and the crafting industry.

This was fixed, mainly because harvesters were actually never supposed to be able to go that high. This, I have no problem with.

What does really surprise me, is that when they fixed this problem, they didn't bring down already existing harvesters to the more reasonable 13/14 maximums, so there are still people out there with massive BERs, mining twice as much as people are able to right now.

These harvesters not only mine massive amounts, but sell for millions of credits each.

Does anyone see this as unfair, and something that should be fixed?

Ok, I have your opinion, but do you care to explain why?

As far as I can see it, we have an aristocracy of people on the server who are using these beefed up machines, and no-one can ever compete with them.

Although this has no bearing on reality, but an example is that Microsoft went to court for this kind of behaviour.

They are benefiting from their longevitiy in the game. Since we, as citizens of this empire, are in a technological regression (When's the last time you could put 80,000 kg of ore in your backpack, but had to sleep in a tent made of hide and bone?) just think of those players as lucky enough to have technology handed down by the 'ancients'.

As for their wrecking the economy. They lead priveleged lives, mostly among themselves, playing games of uber-grinding with macros and hologrinding professions. You and I get to trade and grow well below the scope of their radar screens.

I'm a businessman at heart in this game, and I can't stand that someone is higher than I can ever hope to be, and that its completely out of my control.

I know someone who could put me out of business with just three or four power harvesters, when i have ten harvesters doing the same amount of work...

But seriously They really messed this game up. The Devs should do a buy back type of thing if they want to remove these kinds of items from the game. It's not any one players fault that they have these godly generators but if the Devs want to level the playing field and decrese the rate at which these resources are being mined up they need to get rid of the exsisting one all across the board. Now I have no problem if they stay in game, if does not bother me here or there but it does bother other people.

You can't implement a new system and expect people to abide by the new ways of doing things if the legacy system is still in place.

Just my thought!

And how mad do you think the people will be who paid those millions for such a harvie? SOE should have done it back then. Now it's too late.

It is becoming like finding a virgin in a whorehouse. The more you have, the harder it is to find the next one.

I like it personally, now my lots can be used for more important resouces I need adn I can just buy teh radioactive from someone else. It brings prices down alot. I use radioactive not just for power, but for crafting as well, so I am more than willing to pay 3 cpu for some high OQ/PE stuff. The guy I buy from has like 55 fusions running. I can place an order of 500k - 1 million units of radioactive adn Ill have it within a week. Pretty **edit** conveninet in my opinion. And no I dont own one.

No, it's the same with weapons. How many auctions for "pre-nerf FWG5s" have you seen? It would take too much time and effort to create queries to edit a huge amount of data. I think it's good that players that "got lucky" be allowed to reap the benefit.

Well I guess I see why no-one is interested. The people on these forums HAVE these harvesters... It'll never change.

I suppose first off I suppose I should say I have have one of those 24 BEr fusions. I have no problem with it. Welcome to an unequal world. The architect I bought it from worked hard to get the uber resources to make that harvestor, are you going to punish him for putting lots of effort into his work? The energy market can be saturated with normal fusions anyway, the uber ones just make it require less time. These things are how people differenciate themselves in this game, If everyone had exactly the same then it would be very boring. I especially think it would be very uncool for SOE to just nerf preexisting stuff. They didn't for T-21's, FWG5's, and many other things, it would not be cool in my opinion for them to be nerfed.
