I started a new char and am grinding out to master artisan again. Last time I respeced the surveying tree, this time the hardway.
Why is it that it only takes 6k XP fora tier 4 crafting box, when you can get 400 + xp on harvesters at a time, but it takes 10k XP for the tier 4 surveying box when the most I can get is 44 xp per sample??????!!!!!!!!
It took me all day yesterday of macro sampling to get surveying II & III. It's gonna take me even longer to get IV. Am I missing something?or is this really out of wack.

Yeah...can you imagine how long it would take just trying to get it all with normal sampling use. Years!

it took me a day but only because i sampled
up to the cap then got my box went
back got next got next box until i had all
my surveying boxes one thing
what is the cap on surveying exp
once you have the fourth box?

how are you getting 70 xp???? as i type i'm getting 32 - 44 w/ an insperation buff. i'm on a 94% spawn. i've tried different resources, in different spots, no diff. how do you do it??

That was during double xp I would assume.. yes you get between 30-50xp withInsperation buff..
I found It wasbest to get boxes 1-3 then macro overnight for box 4.

Grinding surveying XP is probably the stupidest grind in the game. First of all, you dont get survey XP for actually surveying. Second of all, 99% of the people who get survey 4 use a macro to get it.
I spent my time getting surveying XP watching television. I have a TV next to the PC (hanging on the wall) for just such an emergency. I was at the keyboard the whole time... but somehow watching my toon survey, stand, sit, repeat just didn't thrill me. (Pre-CU you had to conserve action.)
I would love to see survey XP granted for actually surveying for resources. You should have to move at least 50 meters between surveys in order to get XP. The survey XP should be based on how high a concentration you get in the tool.There should be a bonus for surveying on the harder planets. This would reward people who actually SURVEY.
I doubt it will ever happen though.
