If you guys keep selling stuff for cheap were allways going to be kept under the wealth curve. Its a lot of hard work gathering resources.. just to sell the stuff cheap.

But what are you refering to as dirt cheap, 1000 credits for a CDEF pistol is just plain stupid. The only toons that would want or would buy a CDEF type weapon could not afford it. Now 200C for a Large House (not that I've seen this, but for example) would be very low.

I have said this before, the game hasn't been up long enough for us to have a stabalized economy, but now that people are starting to get into the higher levels we will see that prices will start to even out a little. It might take a week or so, but we will soon be seeing things start to get into a normal economy. To set a min price for objects isn't going to work, since some of the stuff you make is junk items while you can make the same thing of higher quality. If you want wealth then make things people want.

I've seen less of an influx of newbie CDEF weapons over the past 24 hours. People are learning that nobody wants to buy a 17-35 damage carbine, no matter how cheap it is. I've been selling higher damage weapons fin the 250-350 range with no problem. It's all in the marketing.

So we should all form a cartel and gouge the hell out of everyone? I don't think so. No matter how long it takes to make a CDEF weapon, I will never sell one for more than 150-200 creds, depending on the quality.

The CDEF situation represents a severely distorted market dynamic and should not be considered as representative of anything.

Once the bugs and balance issues on harvesters are addressed, people who are currently giving items away or underselling the market are going to find themselves severely strapped for cash. They can make up the difference running missions, but if they're running missions they're not producing anything to give away, effectively removing themselves from the economic equation.

Discountingthe lowballers as players of any significance, there may be an oversupply of goods once the market matures, which will drive prices down. That won't really shake out for weeks or months. In the meantime, there are areas of demand in the market that aren't being met even at the artisan level, and the smart artisan can use those niches to his or her advantage.

And if you don't charge what the market will bear, somebody will resell your goods at a healthy markup. It's virtually guaranteed.

Another critical issue is the fact that browsing the bazar is a freaking pain. NO I DON'T WANT A FRIGGIN 17-35 CDEF PISTOL.
20cr to post crap on there is a real joke. I whish they would've left the price to post at least at 100cr as it was tested during beta.
The effect of that is that now I make my own CDEF weapons that beat 90% of what we see on the bazaar, and when I'll want to upgrade I won't even look at it. The galactic bazaar is rendered useless for weapon shopping now. Still usable for clothing, armor and deeds. But totally pointless to even look for a weapon or powerup.

Doesn't make any sense to set a minimum price. First off, if I want to give something away to a friend or guildmate, I should be allowed to. There's other forms of payment than credits. Maybe he did something for me that I needed. Second, even if there was a minimum price, there's no way to prevent me from /tipping my "buyer" the credits that he will then trade back to me. Finally, there is a de facto minimum price on the bazaar - the listing fee. Might make sense to set a different minimum listing price depending on the item, but even then, the listing fee is (or should be) a small percentage of the item's value or you're not making money off the bazaaar.

For CDEF and other newbie weapons, doesn't make sense to make a big fuss about this. Materials are easy to find and the weapons are easy to make. It's worth it for me to give them away just for the crafting experience.

I don't mind the giving away of newbie weapons
what bothers me is that people use the bazaar to give away non-experimented weapons, with no damage bonus at all.
a stock CDEF pistol as made by a novice artisan with low quality material using a generic crafting device not close to a crafting station...
I see dozens of these non-improved weapons by the same people. That makes anything worth buying scroll off the auction list.

We need an incentive to decrease the number of these weapons noone would buy anyway, at least until the bazaar gets new filtering/searching features.

i definitely agree with the devs implementing a minimum price according to damage, speed, etc.

i have only given away stuff, only armor at this point really, to a scout who got me the material for two pair, one for me one for her, i have sold the others at a far lower price in the bazaar than what others ask for but I still sold them. I dont think we shuold shout at the under cutters, i think those gouging the prices should be held accoutnable. it is not hat difficult to make the lower end weapons and the newbie players can afford a few hundred almost from the start but I have seen cdef for 1000 plus on Bria. I have put stuff on at 200, it sold quick, then upped it to 300 hundred, went quick, I think the most I sold a mod cdef for was 350-400, with experimental higher damage and other stuff. we are not meant to just be the rich land barons of this game. I understand with higher weapons comes higher cost, I am just glad the stuff i need i can find, i can survey and dig up and i can make and sell. EQ did not have this aspect right by the time I got into the game and it really bugged me. SWG has it right now, i hope it stays that way. And really, look at K-mart, they dotn whine everytime walmart has a sale. this is an economy that will stablize when the newer players get to eng 3 and need harvestors to maintain then the prices wil reflect that, and when players see that higher damage means higher prices they will pay.

Asking the devs to place minimum prices is akin to asking the government to manage your life! I don't want that to happen, no way jose! Next thing you know there will be minimum wages and anti-trust laws and... and... a LAWYER profession. ACK!

What we really need are better filters on the bazaar that would let us choose to not view any CDEF weaponry.
