My guess is that you did something foolish.

When you have enough money to maintain a harvester/generator, they are NOT a waste of money. They are literal cash-cows!

Anyway... I build a Wind Generator and farm deed and just tried it on the field.

After 1 day, I return, and checked on it's status and it's broken (4000+ creditsto repair), and has only grabed 40 resources.

What the heck? I can manual sample faster, and better!

The percentage of the resource is like 45%, so maybe that's why? But, still, I canstillmanual sample faster, and better!

Yeah sorry, I am totally Novice/Newbie to these things.

My guess is you may not have paid maintenance into it.On my server it is about twice the going rate for a regular harvestor. I also get pretty good yield from mine even on a 40 something vein.

You need to put in enough maintenance and--except in the case of wind harvesters--power to ensure they stay at 100% until you can go back to them and put in more maintenance and power. Click on the harvester and from the radial menu select "manage harvester," or something like that. Then choose "status." It will tell you how long your maintenance and power will last.

You need to pay the maintence fees up front. 1700 will give you about 24 hrs of work. keep thething fed with cash and it will keep working.

Yep, just because you looked at 'status' and it said 100%, doesn't mean you're ok. You need to put in enough money to KEEP it at 100% until the next time you'll be around to check on it. So, if you plan on coming back the next night, you need 24 hours of maintenance time in there. You probably put in some credits, saw it at 100% and thought you were ok but didn't realize that once it gets below 100% it doesn't work any more. Does that help?
