I really don't know where I should ask about this, and since everyone here is usually so knowledgeable, I decided to post my query here.

"What is the range of a covert faction detection scanner?"

I'd take a guess at about 32 meters

My wife and I just started playing SWG and we're enjoying it immensly. As soon as the XP cap is changed for creature handler she'll be going full guns towards master CH.

My question is, I have no idea where to go with my character. So far I've been just trying to help her get her scouting up to the point where she could be a CH (She's now capped at 20000xp in CH). I'm close to being able to novice in Rifles/Swords/Combat Medic, but I'm noo really sure which way to go.

What do you think would be the most helpful template for a creature handler? Are two creature handlers better than one?

Not really a pressing issue kind of question. Just thought I'd like to hear some others thoughts on the issue.

If she really likes roming the wild for exotic creatures, consider picking up ranger. You already have half the requirements with CH prereq.

My template is master scout/ master CH/ master ranger/ marksman 4/0/0/4

i agree with the ranged plug.. but as for the 20k cap, it can be gotten around

train up the survival tree of scout also, then respec the pts away and you should be able to get a Tier I box in CH, then your cap is like 300k or somthing, and your set till master, which i've heard is bugged too

I like Master Pistoleer with MCH (still need to change my sig). But Spangle is right, any ranged profession works well with CH. In testing, I tried a variety of professions with CH and Master Rifleman works too. For that matter, I liked being a swordsman a lot. Not sure how swords does in-live now, though.

Except for combat purposes, there may be no better profession for complementing CH than Ranger. Unfortunately, though, you do lose a good deal of combat effectiveness, imho. If they ever fix the pet issues, then MCH + Master Ranger could conceivably be an effective template in combat.

Just remember that in order to be CL 80 you need to have 2 elite professions.

Except we both started out after CU, which means no respec for us.

She only made novice CH on Sunday and quickly capped out at 20k. Monday we decided to just play around in space and last night we didn't play at all. Tonight, well if I have my way we'll do some more space missions, but I'll have to see. I hope the cap gets lifted soon, she's really enjoying her taming abilities. The hard part for her is destroying the pets that she doesn't need, because she becomes attached to them.

Right now, I pretty much do all the tanking, and she does all the ranged. I picked up med because I figured at least one of us should be able to heal. It was actually quite fun, tanking alongside with lulu (baby zucca boar), watching her bite at the creatures ankles.

Hopefully the cap is lifted so we can continue to explore and gain experience at the same time.

With your playstyle, the CM Area heal might work quite well.....you can heal everyone, including pets, at the same time, and the added hate it generates would help you as the main tank.

Here's a few other questions:

Is there anything that a creature handler can buy/wear that will help them out? (Other than weapons and armor)

Are their any enhancers, etc?

You can get bio-engineered clothing that assists in training creatures.

Depending oun your wife's preference for alternate skills you could choose to be a tank of some kind and CH as well.

This would of course be dependent on your preferred grouping style too.

If 1 of you chose lets say pistols for instance, it would be the 2 of you and your combined total of pets (built in army...).

With the novice medic you can each use Stim A's, just a thought as CH's can use pet stims as well.
