Thread: New item to craft

I am a 4444 artisan and have discovered the only thing at 4444 artisan to craft is weapon powerups, and some of food. Master artisan gives a couple of components to craft and of course the vehicles. We need another craftable item and I think the weapons in the game should use energy packs. Everyone would have to buy "AMMO" from us and would be a constant stream of money. It would also be cool to have a bio-engineered or droid engineered component, like food does to enhance the ammo.

Anyone think this is a good idea?

uh no..



adding yet one more tool that i have to basically pay regular maintenance on is just a horrible idea IMHO in this case my guns



if you are concerned about what to make at master artisan level, there are people in the elite professions that, to save skill points, do not have master artisan. this is the money maker for you, droid engineers and weaponsmiths need control units and the like, for example. and with the end of the vehicle fix bug, i've noticed more unfixable disabled vehicles around so selling those should be easier.

Personally I am all for a new item for MA's to craft but this idea just (sorry) could never work. Ever. By creating a dependacncy for new items MA's would get over-inflated egos that every ranged weapon proffession would need something they could make thus causing them to charge like 100000 per crate of 5 causing people to go melee or completely avoid these items. Now if this didnt happen how many uses could each have? 100? 1000? To make them worthwhile they would need to have around 1000 uses but this would cause them to be pointless beacuse of how often they would have to be used. But in reality this already exists, its called conditon.

I forgot about this forum. I am not a noob and don't appreciate getting flamed.

I have played since last July and run 3 different characters on various servers. I threw this out because the artisan profession is useless. I have only played it for 2 months but nothing the artisan makes except power ups is ever brought by others and they are very cheap.


I knew when I posted that the combat professions wouldWHINE about having to pay for something that SHOULD be a part of every weapon, i.e. an energy pack, battery, or ammo.


They should last longer than powerups, 500 uses or more. They should be low resource cost, so artisan don't charge an outrageous price.

Hmmm. Well, MA's make electronic components that are required by Droid Engineers. It's not a real sexy sort of thing to make, but is quite necessary to them. And the bounty hunter droids use those electronic components, and the droids are very important to the bounty hunters.

Not to mention Architects using tons of Modules, Control Units, and Micro Sensor Suites. Crates of these in very high quality would sell.

well, one this is not whining .. but weapon CONDITION amounts to the same thing as an "energy pack" ie no weapon last forever and a weapon repair tool could be essentially RECHARGING

in other words.. no weapon packs because we are already doing what you suggest by having our weapons repaired and or replaced regularly..this is not flaming..its just not a good idea

I set up factories, as an MA, and pump out 1000 unit runs of the MA components to sell on my vendors (with the exception of the MSS, which requires other components of an MA). You'd be surprised how fast they sell to AS's and DE's, since they don't have to waste time pumping them out themselves (typically, the runs take 24+hours).


Power-ups also sell like hot-cakes, just do your homework as to what your customer is going to want. Riflemen are looking to lower mind costs, carabiners action, etc. Pumping out Powerups that increase wounds and range mods isn't a very good idea....

so why not get rid of condition for weapons and give it a magazine capacity rating? power packs for blasters, kinetic rounds for kinetric weapons, etc.....


To keep usage of the weapon you nee dto buy ammo for it.

I'm sure weaponsmiths would be thrilled with this idea


Weapons are the provice of weaponsmiths, we dont get a look in or a say about them, we don't make 1337 weapons so we shouldn't be talking about nurfing weaponsmiths (and that is what this would amount to)


As for artisan being usless, I'm making millions selling AV-21's thatI collect the powerplants for myself
