Well Ive been monkieing around with it a bit, just for kicks. Anyhow last night I managed 41% energy, 4 socket, 12% Electricty, 9.4k condition Helm.

If I had better bone I could probably do a bit better.

Bone Armor isnt totally worthless, any armor is better than no armor and if your hunting unbuffed its certainly a light armor to be wearing. Folks that say its worthless and reject it out of hand simply have grown to used to how the system with buffs/comp/ubese armor is now.

Remember even if an armor doesnt have a specific protection it still bumps up your Armor Rating from no armor AR0 to light armor AR1.

Bone Armor wont ever be a true competition for true armor smith armors but it does have its place, regardless of how small that "place" is.

Armor in general is a bit off in this game. Probably something like 85%of all players use composite, 12% probably use ubese on a normal basis, the rest use various mish mashes of whatever they can afford until they too can buy composite. Ends up being fairly boring.

I have hopes that the CU will improve the lot of armors in general. It would be great to see a bit of variation.

Good Bone armor is still better than poor Mabari. Ultimately though most of the Artisan products are designed to give you a chance to "try out" the elite crafts to see if they were something you would want to do. So in that sense Bone Armor is valuable strictly as a learning aid. I still think its a viable, cheap alternative for new players.

I played a bit with bone armor once I got my 14 points. My favorite was a suit of 30% energy protect made with nightsister shards from the bazaar for 1k each. In the end all the pieces has 0 enc except for the helm and the chest piece. Those were 25 enc mind for the helm and 25 health for the chest.

I roll around in a Full Suit of Chitten most times, Unless I know Im Gunna be In a World of Hurt, and I play Unbuffed most of the time, and I love the Look of Chitten, Its a Shame Howover Looked it is, IMHO the best loookin Armor in the game

I got some 12k+ condition, 7% kinetic, 20some energy...it seeems that experimenting on special protection didn't work with kinetic, only affected the energy part. What krayt pieces affect bone armor?

If memory serves you want krayt scales for the bone armor. There are a couple of different types of armor enhancers that drop: armor segments and armor enhancements.

The armor segments are the actual segmentcomponents that you add into the armor itself; an example of this is the voritor lizard segment that fits into bone armor. The segments are specific to one type of armor.

Armor enhancers, on the other hand, are worked into the armor segment by the crafter. This category includes items such as nightsister armor shard, voritor lizard scales, krayt scales, etc. To make use of these items the crafter makes the armor segment as they normally would and they add in this extra piece in the optional enhancement slot. Thecrafted segment is then placed into the armor as it normally would be.These enhancements can be used with any type of armor.

In the case of krayt dragons, they drop both scales and armor segments. The armor segments are only for composite armor, but the scales can be worked into anything.

Bone armor is GREAT... well if you want to fight NPC's unbuffed.. yea energy ubese is better but does anyone make it??? ohh wait i do /wink : ) Still Bone is great armor if you want to run NPS missions,, ot kill the random as long as they are not carring a stun blaster.. BTW chitin is better IMO for the best over all muliti purpose,., but energy or kin layered ubese will work better though much more specialized

Lowest ham is Mabari by a long way. I use krayt scales in my mabari for my unbuffed fencer/ranger

Do krayt scales provide more kinetic resist than Voritor?
