Thread: Am I alone with a crafting bug?
You are NOT alone.
I willquote my discussion with CSR on this:
CSR: Greeting CSR (censored) here. Do you have a moments time?
Mousepad: Yes please
CSR: This is regarding your ticket.
Mousepad: I understand.
Long Pause
Mousepad: I merely wanna know why other artisan grinders (note: my friends grinding in the past)never heard of this issue, is it a new... limitiation?
CSR: It is not a bug, it can be possible that crafting sessions end while running 2 sessions simultaniously when finished crafting as one.
Mousepad: Under all circumstances? Never happend when I grinded doc. Never heard of any other artisan with that problem.
CSR: We do get issues like this. But sometimes you can be successful.
Long Pause
CSR: I am very sorry, we can not do any thing in this issue.
Mousepad: Sorry if I seem aggressive, or like a whining customer, but it is unfair that some people get the benefits of leveling 5 times as fast as others.
CSR: I do understand your frustration. Unfortunatley we can not do anything in this issue.
Mousepad: Doesn't matter, it is still unfair =), just stating a fact and I would like CSR to agree with that officially.
CSR: i am very sorry forthe inconvenience
Mousepad: thank you! I understand your positition as well (note: testing him)
CSR: Please close the ticket if you have no further issues
Long Pause
CSR: Please close the ticket if you have no furter issues
mousepad: You have any other advice, or do you agree with the fact that it is unfair?
(discussion continiued for a while - then he logged out - I sent in another comment to the ticket and he relogged and said![]()
CSR: Players can find around a way to this situation, unfortunatley we can not tell you how to do it
Mousepad: aha, now I get it - a feature
CSR: I am sorry for the inconvience this situation has caused you (?)
CSR: Is there anything else that I can help you with?
Mousepad: omg, no thank you
CSR: Good day and buy.
Notice the "bot - like" discussion CSR is having? It is as if he has only a limited lines to pick from... =)
So it is not a bug... it is a feature. Not that I should trust the CSR.
I have only run across thi sbug under one circumstance... It is when someone is crafting while only practicing using a macro. Try being a real Artisan and don't macrogrind. Even if you are only a hologrinder...
If you are an aspiring crafter, you learn how to craft better by learning how everything effects the final product, from figuring out when to use which resource to make the best product to understanding how experimentation will affect the final good... versus making a million useless little items... if you are trying to be a Jedi... you won;t be one of those people complaining about their lightsabre degrading so quickly or only doing little damage.

When I start another tool, if the one going already finishes, it cancels/aborts/closes the current tool I'm crafting with! I can't craft with more than 2 tools at a time cause I have to finish my part of the crafting before the other tools end! OMG HELP!
I have brought this thread to the developer's attention. I can confirm this bug.
Take care

I must respectfully disagree. I have personally witnessed it with:
Structural Modueles
Chemical Survey Devices
Advanced Droid Frames
Armor Upgrade Kits
It seems to be related to using multiple crafting tools at the same time to bulk create things, either as XP grind or as bulk creation of components.
I rarely use factories as I can hand make (with macros) loads of things much faster.

Hmmm, This is the Artisan boards right??
I did say that "(at least that was the case about a month ago when I first noticed the "bug")". I don't craft any of the other items you mentioned because I'm not an Architect, DE or Armorsmith. So I was unaware.

Not saying this isn't a bug, just saying that this isn't as cut and dry as people have been claiming it.
I've found that (when I was having issues with this "bug") that lag didn't make a difference, had the same effect if I was at Coronet by the starport or in the middle of Tatooine at 8am when servers are empty.
I think itpossibly has more to do with the way the pauses are set. (what are your pauses set for Stryfex?)
WDG craft tool takes 21 secs to craft,
Start tool 1, counts down from 21,
When tool 2 started 21, tool 1 is at11,
Whenentering minerals for tool3, tool 1will be at 6, tool 2 will be at 11.
Since i had pause set to 9 to enter minerals (i'm slow) and 3 secs at the end of each macro. By the time tool 3 was ready to start, Tool 1hits 0, Tool 3 "crafting session is ended"
This is why i had to resort to Craft 2, Skip 2, Craft 2, Skip 2.
BTW a few weeks ago someone wanted to buy some crafting tools and I made them just using my two crafting tools that I have hotkeyed(without a macro) and when the first one completed, thecrafting session was ended on the second tool.

Sure, but a crafting bug is a crafting bug. By citing the other examples, I rebutting the assertion that the bug was limited to crafting crafting tools.
/grin
See ya

is an intentional game design decision developed in Late October to specifically block macro crafting of components the devs thought were too generous as far as XP was concerned.
Crafting Tools were the first hit, because of thier low complexity, high resources, and low skill-box requirements.
People were using 20-30 macros and blasting through them like a hot knife through butter in practice mode, and levelling from Novice Artisan to an Novice Elite in mere hours. Especially since crafting tools are only 2-component items.
Second hit was Advanced Droid Frames, but it was intermittant rather than consecutive.
Every time someone has brought this up, its usually been a Hologrinder blasting through the crafting professions and miffed they cant grind on Crafting Tools to blow through Artisan.
Every time someone has to tell them to GRIND SOMETHING ELSE...
Now can we stop wasting the dev's time with known issues and work on getting Survey ranges bumped up to 1024 for Master Artisans?
