will it be necessary to use good resources on these? if so what does it improve on the kits?

I'd guess... number of charges or uses. That's how it usually works for things like this.

Up to 9 charges per tool using materials that make 43.73 crafting stations. 10 would be the theoretical limit I suppose.

do the subcomponents factor into the charges or just the non components on the final combine?

Got 8 charges on mine using ~900/900 Con/Oq copper. Had85% control units and perfect droid units. No idea if the supcomponents mater.

That would explain why my kits have 2 charges...
... I used a crafting tool instead of crafting station...

Subcombines do not matter. I make em with 8 charges using slightly less than optimal stuff. Figure even number is good since you paint trim and panels at same time.

I tested with fully experimented DSC and control units and non-experimented ones and got identical results. The only factor in number of charges is the OC/Con of the metal you use and how many experimentation points you have.

I am getting 9 uses out of 962 copper and crappy subcomponents and 2 uses out of crap metal.
I'm not sure if it affects the decay on the paintjobs, but 6 uses will get all three vehicles a person could have.

Had a critical failure on my first experiment. We all know that means 0% for the rest of the exp stage. Final assembly came out with 2 charges so we now know range runs from 2 - 9. With 1000CU copper we may see it go to 10, not sure though, since my copper is 990. (Theory says yes, dev's may have said NO and caped at 9)
