Thread: Make it all now or Later

So with the increase in resources and the change to what stats are needed what is the general consinsence about making up a shiot ton of all types of armor now, or wait till after the CU. Personally I can't imagine a reason why I shouldn't go ahead and do several runs of everything now, while my resource requirements are low and I have good resources.
And since I live on that tiny island called flurry and we never get coppied to TC I can't compair any stuff I've made, and I can't stay logged into TC for more than 5 mins w/o a CDT I can't try anything out. So my fellow AS's (who plan on staying one) I ask you this "To Craft it all now, or not to craft it all now, that is the question..."

Can anyone else confirm this? This is NOT how comp converted on TC-Bria. 70% base was converting to 4432 base, and layers were making no difference. Even 90% base was only converting to 5160.
If this is true, then that's great news for those with uber armour - as long as it doesn't convert to some sort of pre-nerf monster, but at least achieves stats comparable to what will be craftable after the CU, then I may be less inclined to cancel ![]()

To all,
I made it onto TC Chilastra for about an hour last night before I went CTD...again. But I did have a chance to closely review all my personal stock of RIS suits and all armors on my vendors. The results did not look to bad actually.
To ease everyone's mind a little, the armor conversion process seems pretty faithful to maintaining the relative resists and protections of the various armor types as they are now.
These are some general protect ranges from the conversion process for various armor types for your reference:
- Mabari: 20s to 40s resits>2000s (-3 to -7% hindrances)
- Tantel: 20-22% base resists > 1800-2100s (-6-8% hindrances)
- Ubese: 78% kinetic/25% base > 2300-2400 (-10-15% hindrances)
- Padded: 72% kinetic/44% bases > 3000 (-18% hindrances)
- Comp: 80/80/72% base kinetic comp > 5400-5500s ! (-30-40s hindrances)
- Interwoven RIS: 80s-90% resists > 5100s(-34% hindrance)
- Regular RIS: 80% kinetic/66% base > 4200-4600s (-10 to -15% hindrances)
Note: I still have to check my wookie or ithorian armor stocks but i presume they were converted similar to the other armor types.
Please note that AA acc/speed mods carried over fine as well. Also, ALL armor was converted automatically. In addition, without encumberances some of my RIS actually converted over with lower hindrances than the encumberances were, allowing me to be able to wear all of my armor unsliced and unbuffed.
My BH armor suit could not be worn and had no stats...Interestingly, each BH piece description stated that the BH piece was a 'subcomponent'for mandolorian armor construction. From this, it does not appear that BH armor suits can be worn post-CU. I will try and do more testing of the BH suit when I get home from work, and assuming TC Chilastra is still up.
All in all, and irrespective of other issues the AS community has, the armor conversion SEEMS to be relatively accurate and working as designed.
What about your existing stock of layers and segments?
Also was there any way to repsec armor. Everyone is wearing comp now and after the CU not many will be wearing that class of armor.

Well my concern is not so much will pre or post be better, but rather I'm looking at the resources used per suit and the stats needed. As it stands from the way I see it, if I go all out and run a butt load of all types of armor now, I'll be better off, becuase...
1) The resources I have now have good stats becuase that's what I've been collecting
2) I can make more armor with my currenent resources, since the ammount looks to be tripling.
So unless I can see some sort of reason not to, it looks like the way to go for now, is run a ton of armor of all types.
Seeing how low for example Ubese and the other lower end armors converted I would say the only armor you'd want to make now is comp and RIS because if the grouping.
Ubese, tantel, mabari, wook ceremonial, ithy guardian are all the same yet the convert very differently. And even the Ubese converstion doesn't look like great reconn armor. IMO 80% ubese pre should be top of the line post converstion.
Padded, wooke mountain, ithy defender and RIS all convert to battle. RIS converts the best out of this class.
Comp, wook hunting, ithy defender all convert to assault armor with comp being the winner in this class.

Due to the fact that the conversion is based strictly on the base% for the conversion your best bet would be to make a buttload of good comp with any means necessary to get the base up then refit the armor after the conversion to the appropriate type needed for the player. Keep in mind though that once you respec you cannot change the colors so you are stuck at the default values just like you see come off the frog on TC-EP3. DO NOT use good resources for gloves and boots since they have no resists at all post CU but still make gloves for each of the 3 classes you expect to sell the most so you can get your sockets to convert over (once you repec gloves and boots you loose sockets and newly crafted has none as well). I plan on making some garbage ubese, comp, and padded gloves to cover the 3 styles and they wont need to be refitted. I am aware the resource use is higher to do them pre-CU but having 8 extra sockets can be a big issue for many combat characters.
My 2 cents.
Good idea. I hadn't thought about stocking up on gloves and boots.
Are you sure all armor can be respec'ed though?
