Anyone familiar with MMORPGs knows there is no such thing as a finished, bug-free game, because the programming is so immense and the world is so vast, that it makes finding every little bug and crash impossible to find.
Therefore, anyone who expects a finished, polished product should not be playing an MMORPG.

Still, you shouldn't make statements like that.
I find the irony of that statement hilarious, especially with this forum's percecution complex about the devs deleting posts with their opinions in them.

Couldnt resist, we have disagreed so much the last few days, its kind of refreshing to agree for once.

I would agree if it wasn't SOE. Refine and polish doesn't mean what it should to them.

Too true. ![]()
The times when there is disagreement is so often, that times when we agree should be celebrated. ![]()

You don't find that an unfair standard to hold SOE to, especially considering my statement is generally true about all MMORPG's, SOE owned or not?

All software is refined and polished after its released. Microsoft Office to MMORPGs. But I think they are being disingenuous as to the amount of refine and polish that will be needed.

I'm not saying that the standard is unreasonable. I'm saying that when SOE says it, I choke because I know what BUG means to them. Couple that with their initial statement with regards to the release of the CURB... "There will be no release date. We will release it when it's finished." They're always pushing toward a deadline and fall short leaving huge bugs and inbalances. Do you remember a thing called the alpha test?

Possible, but just playing devils advocate here, is it that SOE is really being disingenuous, or that players expect too much, or maybe a little bit of both?

Well, maybe disingenuous is the wrong term to use right now. That's assuming they share the same concerns we do, which isn't true. That's obvious. I guess I can't use the term disingenuous until they actually reply to something and say.."sorry, that is an issue, but it won't happen until later."
But there are smart enough people there that realize they've changed quite a bit in this game and are only focusing on parts of it for testing. In that sense, I think I could use the term disingenuous. There...I talked myself into it. :-)
