that is just an excuse.except a productthat is not complete just because. there are alot of big bugs that are easy to find.

You would be better suited playing a FPS than this game, if you feel that way. What I stated is a general rule of ALL mmorpgs, and is accepted by veterans of such. Sorry, but others here have put together a better case than you just did.

Seems to me their doing with CU what Codemasters did with Operation Flashpoint. Release it early. Full of bugs. Fix them as time goes...

The only major diferences being that OFP seems to me far more complex given what the system is capable of. it had regular fixes. And it didnt have any really major bugs to speak of even when it was sold in basically 'beta' format. Not only that but they've regulairly continued to update it. And done such a good job of it that it served to be the basis for modern infantry training software.

The only thing it ever really seems to lack even to this day (beyond user made 'updates') is good graphics.

Part of the problem as I see it with SOE at least is that as bugs are discovered they dont really bother to fix alot of them. Other issues are simply created by lag. Likely due to overloaded servers at this rate as much as code bugs. I mean sure there are balance issues. There allways are. I mean heck Guildwars was full of them when it started and it still has some now. But they've been making regular updates and the like and slowly smoothing everything out. SOE it seems to me doesnt exactly have a known track record, even among MMORPGs of actually fixing anything in a timely manner. I mean hell. GW Alpha had more content and story in it than SWG seems to have ever had.

Yeah. But Codemasters fixed bugs about every few days. SOE on the other hand.. does not. Nor unlike with OFP are they releasing an overall completed product. OFP yes wasnt qutie finished. Tanks and the like would glide down hills while the engines were off etc. But all in all the system as it was was finished. And they promptly patched out things like vehicles sliding down slopes when they werent supposed to etc.

SOE on the other hand seems to be only releasing a half completed product. Full of even more bugs. I mean god knows they sure as hell arnt really thinking out stuff from a crafting perspective. The Icons and sounds are all horrible.

OFP sure not all the graphcis were all that wonderful but the UI is nice, clear cut etc. The sounds are reasonably authentic. All the stuff that really -mattered- was properly tested out and balanced. Not released half assed.

Maybe the developing and coding grinds suck at SOE and that's why they are all novices.

Tip to LEC/SOE: Sci-Fi MMO players don't necessarily belong to the same resource pool as fantasy MMO players.

Heh yeah seems to be. I'm not so sure it's bad coders though so much as too little manpower for the ammount of work required. That or how their organized.

Well its been just about 2 years and they haven't squashed some of the bugs that have been present since beta. Now instead of revamping the old system they are introducing a new one with a whole new set of bugs to add to those already preasent.

Makes sense to me.

Obviously you don't understand the difference between "beta testing" and "polished product".

Just when the dust settled from Smedley's infamous, "very positive feedback", statement...

"Finally, it is worth repeating that even when Combat Upgrade goes "live" it is not finished - we will continue to refine and polish the experience for some months to come."

Sorry babe, but I have been waiting for the CU for a year and a half... mind you paying the whole time to beta test it... and you have the audacity to say this? Anyone who continues to subscribe to this game is a fool.
