So I've been grinding out faction points on my alt character, since my main has no real combat skills. Imagine my surprise when I went to cash those points in, I realized that I couldn't get the schematics. Now, this has to be one of the stupidest things I've ever encountered. Either I'm doing something wrong (HOPEFULLY) or non-armorsmiths can't get the schematic. How am I, a pure crafter, supposed to hunt and kill Imperials for faction points? Ok, so instead I am to be forced to pay exorbitant sums to smugglers? Thats not balancing the economy people (As I'm sure the DEV response would be). That is called extortion.

Please someone tell me that I'm an idiot and am doing something wrong. Please.

contact your local smuggler and buy the faction , if your Rebel contact atradie hes my bro and fair on faction transfers (price) duno what he charges but I bought like 70k faction from him when I was stocking the reb armor in droves a couple weeks ago, and I was reselling it back to customers that needed the faction to bio-link there armor.

And no only master AS's can buy the schems

You will have to get the FP to your armorsmith from a smuggler. It's a hassle, and too expensive.... and the reason I just dont bother with faction armor. I wouldnt mind dealing with a smuggler to get the, but it is just too expensive. 9000 fp for a chestplate

Anybody can delegate faction ... it's just that you can't buy it unless you're 4000 Smuggler. If you're a Colonel you shouldn't lose too much. Check the smuggler forums for more details, under Faction.

On Kauri server (for an human master armorsmith + colonel):

  • 10 charges of IMP Chest: 4500FP

  • 10 charges of IMP Helmet/Legs/Bracers/Biceps: 2250FP

  • 10 charges of IMP Boots/Gloves: 562FP

BTW to support GCW the bio-link prices have to be lowered,

they are outrageously too expansive today:

> 7700FP to bio-link a full setis a robbery, period!

I'm a Twi'lek so expected to get a bit of a screwing when it came to faction armour, but with the standing ratios of 3:1 or higher in favour of Imperials I am able to purchase a full set for 18k FP.

I also respeced to make my character Master Armoursmith, Master Merchant, (Artisan 4040) and 4000 Smuggler so I can buy the FP at 80cpu (previously a Human Master Smuggler in my guild was selling it to me at cost price of 94.4cpu). The only downside to this template is that I have just 3 SP left for FS skills, but as I was never going to grind it to Jedi anyway and with Armour crafting as it is they are just a novelty anyway, its not that big of a problem.

This has no logical reason though. The sensible thing to have done would have made it so all characters could buy these schematics, and that way they could be either sold to armorsmiths (far less hassle) or we could use our alts to get them. This really just chaps my ass.

Love it or hate it, it's just the way it is. Personally I respecced my main as a master smuggler just to buy the faction for my Armorsmith. Personally it makes sense to me since all recruiter purchased schematics have been this way, just very few available for purchase until now, and even then weren't very necessary at that. Probably the DEVS just didn't want the market to get flooded with schematics or someone hoarding a dozen of each then switch faction and get a dozen more of each. The only thing that makes sense to me is to keep rebels making just rebel armor and imps, imp armor. Otherwise what point would there be and we'd have neutrals making armor for both factions. I'm sure the empire would much prefer that their armor was made by one of their own rather than a rebel, and vice-versa.
