Thread: What about customers drives you insane?

I wrote the following post one night after dealing with a series of extremely irritating customers and a server crash:

OH! While we're here, I'd like to get something off my chest:
1) No, I cannot make 80% stun composite Armor
1) No, I cannot make 80% stun composite Armor
2) No, it isn't because I suck as an Armorsmith
2a) No amount of telling me I suck as an Armorsmith since I can't make 80% stun composite will change the fact it's impossible. However, I would be glad to introduce to MrIgnore, an uber Armorsmith who can.
3) I also can't make you 80% LS resistant armor.
3a) See 2a.
4) I'm sorry, but I don't accept other Armorsmith's work to resell on my vendor as a way for you to "purchase" some of my armor
5) Interplanetary survey droids, crafting droids, and pets are all right out as well
6) No, I can't make armor. I wear the Master Armorsmith tag to look cool and pick up hot Twi'lek dancers in Theed Cantina
7) I can't just, "whip you up a set of RIS" while sitting in the cantina. I'm sorry I don't carry my 20 million resources around with me everywhere I go.
8) MrIgnore is a close friend of mine. I'm sure if you're upset with any of the above issues enough to cause you to use a large amount of 4 letter words directed at me, I'm sure he would love to assist you with your problems."
Was wondering if anyone else has particularly notable things they'd like to share.

Ive made myself not searchable that really takes care of most of the really annoying people. Or else the kettemoor population is very well educated. I very rarely if ever get the annoying 80% stun/ls questions. People always listen when I give them the lowsown on RIS.
BUt clients can be fun sometimes. But some of you really must have short fuses I think I might have three people in my ignore list and only one of those is an armor client gone bad :-(

i have about 500 people on my ignore list...either from spamming or annoying the crap out of me...

I try to be patient and answer their questions. BUTI have found, and recommend, you craft a few emails explaining in detail the answers to the most common questions. When you sense where the conversation is headed send them the email and 9 out of 10 times they say, "WOW, thanks for the great email, this explains what I was going to ask." For instance I have a complete Interwoven RIS armor email explaining why i require similar serial numbers, and the different combos of enhancements. I also have an email explaining composite armor and how the numbers work on my server and what you can find from my shop, and from lower AS shops if looking for a better deal but lesser armor. I also have an email explaining wookie armor, one for padded armor.
once i had these typed up in detail i find the conversations for questions goes from 10 minutes to 2 minutes or less.

Had a guy ask me to introduce him to some girls while we were discussing a custom armor suit. I checked my tag. didnt say "Master Pimp". That was probably my most unique order request

When I log in, I always turn off my tag, whatever it is. Have done this prolly since Sept 2003. Some people need there vanity plates...I dont.

I think this was my favorite "oh man I got a live one" /tell conversation. Normally I'm a pleasant and happy AS but thistook placeafter a long day at work...
Them: "Aren't you an Armorsmith?"
Me: "Yup. What can I do for ya?"
Them: "If you're an armorsmith, why are you a Materials Specialist?"
Me: "Because I want to be. Do you need some armor?"
Them: "What's a materials specialist do?"
Me: "Specialize in materials."
Them: "Oh"
Them: "Can you make me a rifle?"
Me: "Poof, you're a rifle."

I don't have anyone on my ignore list. I'm a very patient person, plus I think everyone on my server pretty much knows I don't so custom orders...

best part is when i'm traveling through populated starports, and i get a tell that goes something like this...
Person: Hi, you're an armorsmith right?
Me: Yes I am
Person: Do you make good armor?
[Long Pause]
Me: No, sorry I make s**t armor
Person: Can you make me some composite armor?
[Long Pause]
Me: No but i can send you a waypoint to my vendor that has armor on it
Person: Nevermind

and the other day i had some guy buy a bracer and bicep (90%) and he offers his jacked up old bicep and bracer (like 65% in it's prime) which were made by another armorsmith,to my vendor for the price he bought my 90% for... like wth are you thinking... sure i'lltrade my top of the line armor for this POS you were wearing before..
