Yeah, guy wanted to offer me once:
a bracer by Skinny, a pair of gloves by Makkir, and a pair of boots by Darvell and 34k for a suit of my best composite. I asked him what iwas supposed to do with the armor. He told me to sell it, then got upset when I said it was dishonest for me to take the stuff.

So he proceeds to offer me 34k again, an LE model repair droid with a food crafting station, a slice hound, and a pair of interplanetary survey droids.
Needless to say, I was drinking a lot that night after. LOL

i never get botherd by customers, hehe
usually i have a merchant title on, mostly recruiter, so players barely know i am a smith.
also i think intrepid players pretty much know how armor is working

Im kinda high visibility now... im not running my tag anymore, nor am I searchable
best solution: make a custom /afk msg and tell everybody to forward emails if you need something... that way I can screen and prevent tell-hell

In my short time as an AS so far I haven't had the usual stupid requests. "Can you repair my (insert weapon) or the "Do you make good armor" or anything where i have to explain that "no I can't make you 83%Stun armor. No, no one can"
However.
Since making Mater ArmorSmith I have never had the title up. Alway stuck with my "Homemaker" tag. A few weeks back, I'm doing random wandering and someone asks me to make them couch. This naturally stops me for a second, wondering why they would ask me.
"I'm sorry, I don't think I can make couches"
"Sure you can, it's in (Insert skill name from Arch tree)"
"No, no I can't, I 'm not an architect."
"A$$hole"
/addignore.
Two days later. I realize he read my title. Homemaker. But he read it as someone who makes homes, not the usual meaning of homemaker that it implies. Since then I've had several occasions where people ask me architect related things. I've come to the conclusion that your title doesn't matter, if it's not combat specific the idiots of the world WILL find a way to bug you.

I took my MAS tag off a long long time ago. Strange enough, I keep my master smuggler tag up and bug way less even though there are less master smugglers than MAS.
The only people that msg me are people that are standing at my vendor or people that know who I am. The people that know me don't ever ask stupid questions and the people at my vendor usually only ask when my next stocking time is.
When I used to keep my tag up, I always got stupid questions. I'm a lot more relaxed as an MAS now and enjoy it 10x as much.

Them: "Aren't you an Armorsmith?"
Me: "Yup. What can I do for ya?"
Them: "If you're an armorsmith, why are you a Materials Specialist?"
Me: "Because I want to be. Do you need some armor?"
Them: "What's a materials specialist do?"
Me: "Specialize in materials."
Them: "Oh"
Them: "Can you make me a rifle?"
Me: "Poof, you're a rifle."

I had an interesting experince trying to figure out what a customer ment when he asked me about the "new type of composite armor."
I name my armor "double kinetic layered, triple stun layered, and such, but he though those were the default names and they were a new type of armor. Took me about 10 min to figure out what he was talking about.

Oh Ive run into that too!
I began my armorsmith business by making a serious of runs of triple kin/energy/stun layered composite I call "Leviathan Heavy Composite" and each time I make a better version I add a "Mark II" or somesuch to it.
Now thatI havent made any "Leviathan Mark III" in a month or so, my usually buyers are screaming for more, even though I tell them that the "Mark IV" will be available soon.... I've had no less than 3 different people ask me if there is a loot schematic I use to make it!!!
They wanted to know where to get them so they could have another MAS make "Leviathan Mark III Heavy Composite" lol
