I have only recently started this game (i.e less than 3 hours played) and i am still finding my way round.

I have taken on a "destroy" mission but the target is protected / near 2 vynocks, and i keep getting my butt whipped. Can anyone give me advice on how to defeat these, or am i best cancelling these missions and sticking with "deliver" ones??

Ta very much

Destroy missions are always hard for new char's.... Just getlevels 1 and 2 by killing stuff, and then use the new shots/hits u get on the destroy missions

Stick to the areas outside of your starting city. There are several spots that will spawn creatures you are capable of taking out (with some work). Use them to gain a level or two in your prefered weapon before taking on distroy missions. If you haven't spent all of your money, and are a Ranged Weapons combatant... distroy that CDEF you start with. Player-made CDEFs are MUCH better to use.

Good luck, and welcome to the galaxy.

Let me clarify a little on that. Distroy the starting weapon, and buy a new one of the same type (weapons are usually restricted to skill levels).

Some starting tips

1. go phrone and use maximum distance (64m) before you attack the vynock, this will give you several free attacks before it notice you

2. only use overcharge shots, this will damage your weapon faster but you won't need it for long anyway

3. go to bazaar, maybe you can buy a weapon with better stats but make sure you have the cert for it

4. go to bazaar, try to buy armor chest and leg pieces with at least 1% kinetic this will reduce most damage taken from vynock( and yes you should be able to find weapon and armor for 100c each )

5. don't shoot the lair before you've killed all mobs around it

6. only shoot lairone timeafter you cleared the mobs, use peace button and wait till they come out, repeat untill destroyed

Post your server - sometimes people get all nice around here and will seek you out to help you in game Helping newcomers is very cool, when they go "wow" at something it evokes memories of the first time we too went "wow" ...

1) Find others who just started and group.

2) When getting destroy missions, unquip your weapon before opening the mission terminal. It will give you missions based on the weapon you are carrying. By unequiping your weapon, the terminal considers you as if you are going to fight unarmed. Since you are probably less skilled when unarmed, the missions will be easier. Take a mission, equip your weapon and you should have an easier time

3) Not all missions are right next to another lair. You got a bit of bad luck. You can drop that mission and get another. Having your objective spawn right next to another lair with red /con creatures is bad luck.

I'm not there yet, and I am pretty sure another AS will answer this better than myself, but you need an AUK for sure, I can't remember what else though....sorry....

You need a Smuggler with a Armor upgrade kit. Smugglers are the only slicer's in game.

To be completely self suficient you will need some of every type of harvestor.

I would say 95% of what I harvest is flora though. If a good shift of chemical that I need comes in I have enough basically forever. Same thing with minerals and gases. These are easy enough to buy though and none of the top 5-7 popular foods require anything other than flora and creature resources though.

The few exceptions would be gemstone for casks and chemical for casks. I buy all this material as you can get grind stuff fairly cheap. You will go through a lot of this though.
