Thread: Armor Holes, When will it be fixed?

armor holes = dead jedi
Yeah but it is not only jedi, I'm getting tired to get one Shotted with full composite with my main or jedi..
It is been so long since we had an update on this that i bet the devs forgot about it.
I notice that if Npc's do special moves they ignore armor most of the times.
When are we going to get an update on this?
Thunderheart said a few months ago that they are aware of it, do they see it now as a part of the game or something?
The only factual evidence about them is armor spam, where a fully suited individual doesn' t block anything. Since this is all anyone has to go off, it is specualtion as to what the actual problem is. All we know is that some shots aren't being stopped by armor, here is the most common explanation, which I think has some Thunderheart backing in posts from long ago.
A toon has several 'zones' that cover their body. When a shotis registered, it picks one of these zones. First it probably picks a damage type like the action (legs/feet), health (chest/arms) or mind (head). Then the 'zones' are probablybroken off by percentages of some type, so a larger 'zone' such as the chest, takes a greater percentage of hits, than a smaller one, like the 'left bicep'. The most common explanation is that somewhere, the 9 possible Armor coverable 'zones'got confused with the total number of 'zones' that can wear any clothing. Possibly they are coded together, so breaking them up into two categories is hard to do. So, if a character is hit in thebelt, backpack, shirt, or goggles (special edition has special goggles) 'zone' it goes right through, cause the item doesn't block damage...thus the 'hole'.
It would be an interesting test if someone could know if they had ever taken an Action hit to the Armor hole. Since there isn't any missing 'zone that would fit under the action area of the body, it might be that this isn't ever affected by the 'hole'. But I know for a fact that health and Mind are definitely prone to 1-shot kills from the hole.
