Raise a quick /bug report everytime you get hit through the armour hole. Maybe if enough go through SOE will remember that it's still an issue and give an update.
Each report I include location, NPC, type of armour I have, and weapon type of the NPC (if possible).

It would be an interesting test if someone could know if they had ever taken an Action hit to the Armor hole. Since there isn't any missing 'zone that would fit under the action area of the body, it might be that this isn't ever affected by the 'hole'. But I know for a fact that health and Mind are definitely prone to 1-shot kills from the hole.
Pretty close. TH posted in the Game Guides forum that the armorhole is caused by the Eye slot, for which there is no armor. Here is his post:

Myself and a few guild members have been talking about this problem...
We think that some locations thatarethe cause of this problem...
Location 1: Belt - most people dont wear the Padded armor Belt... So they dont have protection over the Belt location... Or they dont have a working PSG at the time...
Location 2: Eyes- yeah I know.. that should not be an issue.. but if you have a copy of the special edition of this game you get glasses for your toon that go over an eye slot and do not count against the Head Location
Location 3: Backpack -Ok this one is just my idea... I suspect that the spot on your back for the backpack/bando is one of the other culprets for the Holes...
I have gotten into the habbit of leaving my PSG off now and equiping it with a armor macro... I noticed for the first time in my life that it actully took damage for me if I leave it off and put it on when I need it... Felt strange to see combat spam saying your Imperial PSG prototype blocks xxx amount of damage..
Thats my theroy on the armor hole problem...
