Thread: Armor Pricing
I am an armorsmith on Corbantis, home based on Tat. Now that I've grinded through to complete the Personal armor line, I'm not sure what to charge for Armor suits but more confusing the individual parts. I'm not trying to start a Union or anything but just collect some thoughts to minimal?/fair armor pricing. Assume all pieces are made with technique 4.
Does anyone have an idea for Chitin through Padded suit and component pricing? Is there a good guide online somewhere? Thanks

TiberousFox,
My pricing is as follows:
Full Bone: 12k
Full Mabari 11K
Full Chitin: 30K - 35k if Kinetic is over 25%
Full Tantel: 10K
Full Ubese: 35K
Full Padded: 44K
As to your question about individual parts I have a excel spreadsheet that I use that costs each item out by the resources it uses and then gives retail based on the full set price. If you post or private msg me your email address I will email it to you. I have heard of some armorsmiths selling all pieces at the sameprice but this did not make much sense to me as your average chestplate uses twice to 3 times the materials gloves use.
ubese 35-40
padded 55-60
I havne't made chitin lately, but i imagine 25-30 would prolly be it's price range...
I would like to know what people are selling the PSGs for tho. They are kinda a pain to make (6 subcomponents), and supposedly have a small lifetime (2000ish condition points).
20% loHAM Padded 60k
25-35% LoHAM Composite 250k
unsliced, out atm =D
NEED Beryl COPPER on BF! its over 4 weeks! Enough already! =D
I just deal in Ubese and Padded right now (STILL waiting on resource shift onRadiant)
I sell Ubese around 35k set and padded 55k
I think it's going to depend on the Galaxy and the current economy. When I was moving up the PA branch I would overprice a new armor, then gradually reduce it until it sold well.
Currently I use a basic system based roughly on the quality and resources. For padded I charge the following:
1000 per Panel or synthetic cloth (whichever is higher), plus
500 per defensive % (whichever is higher)
So for a full suit that has a 10% as the best defense (which is the lowest I will sell) it breaks down to:
9000 chest
8000 helm
8000 leggings
7000 boots
7000 for each arm piece
6000 gloves
total = 66k, if they buya whole set I give a discount, usually 5 or 6k so that would be about 60k.
This system seems to work well and I sell a lot.
I use a similar system for chitin, with the constants lowered.
I know that some scoff at this... but I price per resource as an easy way for me to calculate. Of course, I usually then round it to a nice even number so the suit comes out to my desired price.
It helps me see how high I can afford on materials and still get my fair share. And it balances the prices of the items for their usefulness and complexity. For example, you take more hits on your chest piece than gloves. Thus the chest is more expensive as it is more important. It is also more costly to make.
And it means that I earn really the same profit margin on each piece. So I am not tempted to "push" a certain item more than another. Doesn't matter so much to me what I sell you, I get my profit, you get what you need. ![]()
I price as following, adding or deducting a little depending on the outcome quality:
Tantel: 15-30k
Ubese: 40-60k
Padded: 50-60k
Composite: 130-225k
Hello all,
I am trying to decide on a pricing method. Up till nowI have been making armor for my PA exclusivly. NowI would like to sell Armor to the open market and have noticed a pretty wide price range on my server.
What method do you use to decide your prices?
Decide on a base price and multiply it by the # of armor segments used to create the piece. Works great for me pricing that way.
