Not all people are ripping off customers when they charge 800-900k for armor.
1. Is their armor layered and is your armor layered? Quad layered armor is going to cost a lot more then unlayored armor.
2. Do you charge for things like factory and power? Those cost money and a lot of people overlook that when figuring out prices. Its good to be able to sell cheap but are you losing money, breaking even, or making money?
3. Types of resources. On my shard, resources like alantium and ventrium aren't spawning and if you want to make layers with them, you need to use resource crates which are generally about 3 mil or so on my server.
4. Selling wares in SWG is a lot like real life. The market sways back and forth. If there are a lot of armorsmiths and available armor then prices will drop because people can get it everywhere and will go to the cheaper places. If there aren't many armorsmiths or available armor then the prices will go up. Are you constantly making armor and constantly running out? Then you are selling too cheap. I have mine priced so that it doesn't literally fly off my vendor as I am putting it up for sale which has happened to me but I don't have it priced so high that it collects dust and I have to constantly re-list it on my vendor every 30 days.
There are a lot of things to consider in pricing of wares such as time, resources, factories, and what not and not everyone that sells high is ripping people off. I bet if a lot of the people that sell cheap armor actually added everything up (how much per cpu did you pay per resource, how much in maint and power did you pay per factory run, how much time did it take to make everything, etc) a lot of people would find that they aren't really making money, some might be breaking even while others are actually losing.
Just food for thought.
