Hi everyone!

I am a new armorsmith on flurry galaxy and I was wondering if everyone here could give me a hand. I was wondering what would be considered decent, good, and great composite armor BEFORE slicing. I was also wondering what good prices were, and how much do sockets affect the price. I would also like to know what i can do to improve my crafting abilities. I have some assembly tapes, working on getting more experimentation tapes, but i was curious if there was anything else i can do. I am having a horrible time trying to make good composite and am in need of help.

Currently i am crafting composite armor gloves that have Kinetic special resistance of 80% with 48% on the rest of the resistances and the ham cost is about 80 for health, action, and mind. What am i doing wrong?

One thing you could try, when making your schematics, make a few segments until you get a couple amazing successes and then do the same thing with the armor pieces until you get some amazings. Keep track of where the resource caps out on stats, and make the schematic when you have the best result you think you can make. This will sometimes allow you to put extra points in durability or wherever you like because an amazing success might allow you to hit the cap for base with less exp points spent.

Is there anything i can do to improve my crafting, like food?

I haven't personally tried it yet, but am planning on buying some of the brandy that gives + experimentation. I saw someone say they got several amazings during experimentation while eating it. I'll try to give you an update if I can find some.

The drawback is that I'm thinking it will take a bit more time to do your schematics, since if you want to keep eating the food you'll have to wait for your stomach to empty. I can't remember the approx filling on the food offhand.

There is also food that gives you + assembly, but generally the experimentation is more important. Assembly will just help you avoid critical fails, maybe give you better chance at an amazing result on the actual craft. I've already bought some of this, but haven't tried it yet. Probably will tonight.

There's some debate on the effect of crafting stations or tools with a high rating. I use my droid because I haven't found a nice station for sale yet, but it couldn't hurt to have one, so I'll buy one when I find one. The highest rating for a station is around 43.0.

One last thing you could try would be crafting in a city with the Research Center (I think that's right) title. You get bonuses to experimentation while in the city. But there's debate on this also, some people say they get more criticals while in the city. Can't hurt to try, though.

i really don't notice much difference with the food, pylonian cakes for assembly, and bespin port for the experimentation, both are +11 and 21filling so i can take 4 and wait a few minutes and take a 5th of the ports, so 1/2 my points are increased, but is eem to get an equal number of amazings on the port points and the non port points, wierd considering it's 350k a crate

Bespin Port works for each experimentation... so if you take one, then experiment X amount of points, you need to take another to experiment another X amount of leftover points on the same piece. It isn't a huge difference, but you definitely don't see a failure on experimenting (at least I haven't). I only use the Assembly food when I'm working with someone else's Krayt scales or something of the sort, so that I lessen my chances of losing them.

350k for a crate of Port isn't worth it in my opinion.. but different servers yield different prices of course.. I paid 50k for my last crate of +10 Port on Tempest.

I believe port is 300k a crate on Ahazi, don't know of any other.

Still getting criticals in the Research Center when I don't drink port though. And I wish I could figure out a way to get 4 sockets w/ out crafting 25 prototypes.

I have used both and I seem to notice a slight difference. When using the food out of about 100 attempts I never had a failure. I can't be sure about amazing successes, because that is random number rolling, but I received several amazings in a row even without the food. So I can't know for sure on that event.

Anyone on Chilastra can tell me where you can get +11% Bespin Port, please let me know. I only seen +9% and I get that free from my guildee chef.

Also the original question, what is considered 'Normal' composite? even thou everyone outside the AS community expects us to make 90% every single time. Tailors have created a base price for items to give everyone a guideline for pricing. Call it price fixing if you want, but it is best for us, and I don't think the Empire has laws against it. I have have seen similar armors vary in price in excess of mil creds. It would be nice for us new AS's to understand how the old dogs do it. Maybe even Master Waals can help on this.

I hope I'm right on this...but doing the math... taking into account the maximum stat #'s you'll see on the Adv Segment and the actual Composite resources (as far as OQ+SR go), the Base Effectiveness, with NO layers, maxes out at 60%. That's 60% with the absolute best resourcesfor the advanced segments and the actual piece of armor with full experimentation for base effectiveness. Again, this is without layers... toss the leftover points into the encumbrance and you'll increase the electricity a little and lower the ham of course.

So that should give you an idea of how your unlayered stacks up. Right now, on Tempest, with the best resources for quite a few months, I can hit 55% Base Effectiveness without layers...toss in 3 Electrical layers (which seem to give the best % increase on Base Effectiveness, while maxing out the Electricity Special Protection), I can hit 68% and still have a point or two leftover for encumbrance experimentation.

Again, that's Tempest...and what I'm experiencing with the best resources that we've seen in a while (based on historical resource statistics kept by a guildmate). This is with no experimentation tapes, Bespin Port or any other kind of enhancement, just straight up vanilla Master Armorsmith.

Tecar hit it on the nose from my experiences with the Port also...I've had awesome success without the Port multiple times in a row so I can't really make a really good judgement on how well it really works. Rooyal, you're also in a Research Center testing the Port...now without the Port and being in a Research Center as opposed to the middle of nowhere with my awesome Clothing/Armor droid, I never really saw a difference with the Research bonus either, but maybe I just didn't test it enough.

But if the Research Center is making avisible difference each time, throwing the Port on top of it, isn't going to be a very good test of the Port alone.

Guys, great information, lets keep this coming!

Thanks alot for all those who contributed.

How about someone get to work on some pricing guidelines?
