Ok, so here's what I've found.

Standard experimenting I was getting 60% on my ubese gloves.

Ate Poyollyn Cake, then crafted the item. Experimented 2 points at a time, drinking Bespin Port between each craft. While in a city with the Research Center title.....

62% on my ubese gloves. So, imo... yes, it works. =)

At the price people are charging for port, and having toyed with it some more, I've decided it's not really worth going crazy with. I've never failed on an experimentation with it, granted, but I haven't really noticed that I get more amazings either. Just great success most of the time. This is with bioengineered port, not sure of the bonus.

So what I've decided to do with it now is save it for those times when I have 24 leftover comp segments from a run, and I want to craft someone a suit out of it.Since I can't afford to fail on a piece, I'll eat the cake and then drink the port, trying to minimize the number of experimentations to max out the stats on the armor. (Since the port is like 12% filling... you don't want to waste it experimenting one point at time or anything. :smileyhappy Doing this I've managed to minimize the number of criticals and failed assembly/experimentations.

However, when the port runs out, I'm not sure if I want to shell out cash for another crate. at about 655-700 credits per drink, and average of 2-3 drinks per item, it adds alot of cost into making the armor, and I try to keep my prices low.

The cake, however, I can buy cheap so that's definately gonna be a regular part of my diet. Maybe I can find some non-BE port somewhere... If I did I think I'd buy it, assuming the price would be 1/4 or 1/3 of the BE stuff.

i'll give it a shot and respond to the actual question ...

type1: 72% Elec, 56% Base

type2: 8% Stun, 80% Elec, 70% Base

type3: 80% Energy, 80% Elec, 68% Base

type4: 80% Energy, 80% Kinetic, 80% Elec, 66% Base

I'm new, is this even possible? 80% Kin, Enerygy, and Elec special?

I guess so with 2%/12% segments (one of each, electric, kinetic and energy) plus a base segment (unlayered) at 60% resist... I wish i could make that!!

Maybe the Electricity layer could dedicate more points to base because the Elec on comp is naturally higher?

Still, even if it could be done, seems you'd be better off just making some 80% Elec / 6x% pieces and hoping for the good slice. If you really want the best.

it is possible. i elec layer with maxed base. 1 layer of each kin and en with maxed out special. using the best ressources i have. and i'm collecting since week two of Wanderhome.

i was quite surprised, too ... but i think its a great armor! of course it is right that a sliced type2 has the possibility to get the resist to 90%, but one would need a slice over 15% effectiveness. not unlikely but still no guarantee ... i think its great PvE Armor, and a bad slice on it doesn't make it useless.
