Thread: armor coloring kits- (I know its been posted many times) Sign if you want.
What I mean is this is a legitimate (albeit well beaten) issue. I'm a fence sitter on it. I'm against it as a fix for the color bug as I didn't want to give the devs an easy way out. Now that it's looking like that's finally fixed, I'm back in the middle. I'm for coloring kits as long as there is some other content added that can make a "custom" armorsmith viable. I agree that "custom" work should be more than just color, but that's all a new armorsmith has going for them. When I was new, I carried my uncapped cores and a droid and crafted grind armor personally on the spot for people that wanted a different look. It help to get me started. If they take that away, people who are now like I was, have nothing.
But, customer's shouldn't have to have such a problem getting the colors they want. I think that they should have color kits added to the game, but alot of enhancers needed to be added and not all high end impossible to get enhancers. We have a great thread about different things that could be added. If those are somewhat readily available, then these "custom" armorsmith still have their niche and customers have their colors. Also, they would make a great grind item (a reason for them to be an AS schem and not an artisan schem).
My problemis that this is a pointless petition thread. A bunch of /sign's isn't going to work out this issue, especially since there are mixed feelings about it. I just look at our community above things like petitions and unfounded whining. Everytime I read somewhere else, I realize how well we usually handle our issues.![]()
EDIT: I too am on the fence about the color kits. I think they would be a great selling item, but it kills custom armor making. The mass producers immediately grab the market.

I'm going to have to agree with LizzyD on this. The devs have established the corrs for requests and bug fixes. They create wish lists for us and then Tiggs gives them to the designers. Petitions just aren't the way to get things done. Well, unless it's 400+ pages long with thousands of unified people in it...which we don't have.

agree, they would be a bad thing if they werent CAREFULLY tailored to smiths, maybe some lvl 4 skill or even master. to recolor a suit of armor. A lot of smiths make their money on being able to customize, dont take that away from them
Quit being like that AS's! Some people can't alwatys afford customized armor full sets, they have to buy them off the rack or piecemeal. We'd like armor customization kits just like how we like to color our droids & vehicles. There's no reason to get an AS involved in this part, the already bought armor belongs to us & we should be able to do whatever we like with it.
What about a situation where our chests & helmets decay faster than other pieces or we break a piece with a armor repair kit? It's just more feasable to buy another piece off the rack & color it to match your set yourself than to find a usually very busy AS & bugthem by asking for 1 customized piece that is not enhanced, layered, primused, capped, etc.
Get behind this idea AS's, as long as coloring is still bugged in the crafting stage( which it still is) the cudtomer should be allowed to recolor our armors. I got a perfect example of why it needs to be done.
On Starsider an AS who's shop was on Tat was selling all the rest of his armors & pieces at half-price because he was getting out of the business & switching to a combat prof. He colored all of his armors green & we all went & bought up his Composites, Ubese, Mabaris, Chitins & whatever else he had, all colored green. Now I want to recolor these pieces but I have no options cause I can't take an already crafted piece to to an AS & ask them to change the color or do itmyself with a custom kit. What do you AS's who are against this think I should do about all my green armor pieces, what options are available to me from your point of view?
