(In case anyone doesn't know PSG = Personal Sheild Generator)

Just need some info / advice on PSGs. I have Tech 1 and PSG MK1s now. My first one wasn't too great. 6% energy 3% everything else. But still did the base 50% absorb so was taking quite a bit of, but still not selling material.

Just need to know, what should I aim for to get them better. I'm going to get Tech 2 next. But after that is it best to get MK2s or Tech 3? I'm not concerned about other armour at the moment, just PSGs, so which will make better PSGs until I can get next skill? Tech 3 or Mk2?

Also what skill do you need to start effectively selling them?

Thanks

(And if you wonder why the hell I'm doing PSGs first, I am opening a shop with a friend who is also a Armourmith, he's doing the armour I'm doing the PSGs)

The only way to make better crafted armor and PSGs is to use good materials and get up the Tech tree. My advice is to get it over with in the beginning, and then go back to learn the other branches. It will save you some heartache when all of your stuff is half decent.

And having lived in a town with more then a dozen armorsmiths 4 out of 5 go for the cool new armor and don't concentrate on making good armor. If you can make the good stuff, you will always have customers.

Cheers!

Hmm, ok. So Tech Tree first? I did use quite good materials 900 quality on some and 600 on others. But I got 2 success in experimenting and it only raised energy by 3% total. Ahh well.

Just wondering, since there must be some high level armoursmiths out there. How much skill will I need before I can make a "good" PSG. How much before I can get 10% on everything? 20%? 30%?

Also, PSGs need some kind of animtion like a blue shield (Or even armoursmith chooses colour, or based on crystals we use) that appears when you get hit.

6/3s are not selling material? I put 5 3/2s in the bazaar for 2500 credits each and all of them sold within 45 minutes. You just have to find the right market.

I don't really have a secret, I just put them up in the bazaar and they sell.. Maybe having the numbers at the front listing the resitances "3/2 Personal..." causes people to see them when they sort alphabetically or something.. How are other people's experiences with selling them in the bazaar?

With Tech 4 and deflectors 4 I can make an MK3 that regularly gets up to 40% Energy resist.

I do not concentrate on the secondary resists, I concentrate on the energy resist and look for bounty hunters and creature handlers ... or anyone else that looks like they might like PvP.

Personally I see a change comming to PSG's with the 75% reduction on damage in PvP.

either people will say hey I can't hurt that guy at all !??

or the person with the shield will say hey this sucks now it doesnt even last half a fight, im never buying these again.

I just started making them and i havent gotten tech 1 yet butI am able to sell them pretty quick.I use the following pricing stratagy 1%-2k, 2%-2.5k, 3%-3k, 4%-3.5k, 5%-4k, 6%-4.5k etc. The best i can make is usually 7-8% but everything over 4% goes quick. One reason noone buys them cause they dont know what they do soI try to let people know what they do when i try selling them. Also try appealing to wookies. They buy most of mine. Try going to a more rebel or Imp city where they like to fight alot. I go between Ancorhead and Bestine.

You're selling yourself short at 5k. Take in consideration your factory time, or your time invested. Failures all that, are you really making anything off them?
