Thread: PSGs
As far as what Tech 4 will get you.
I have Deflectors-2 so I can make the MK1s. I think my Component made stuff is around 66% experimented for Deflector parts and about 85-90% for the Master Artisan made components.
When I craft my PSGs they start out at 8%/6%. I can experiment them to 22%/6% or 12%/12% or 8%/16%. (the %/% stand for Special Resist [Energy]/Effective Resists [Random upon logging in])
For any aspiring AS who wishes to make good quality psg's, it is imperative that you get tech IV before you go up the MK tree.
The key to making the best stuff is:
1. Tech IV
2. Resources
I make mk3 energy shields at 50% resists. I can make mk2 kinetic, energy, stun, heat, elec, res 32-35%. They have 1800 ham and last a very long time. Those sell for 45k off the vendor, and Ive had people offer as much as 60k for them when I run out.
When making the six different components need for a psg, its vital that you make them using the best resources availiable. Concentrate especially on OQ,mal, and SR. Find a DE who you trust uses the best materials in his Power Conditioner and Energy Distributors.
Im not making anything else until they fix this crap with expermentation. I'll not waste my good stock of hard to get resources on the crap they let us make now. Do yourself and your reputation a favor, and follow in my footsteps. My best customers are the repeat ones and all it takes is one sale of crap to the wrong person and thats a loss of at least 2-3 others sales through word of mouth.
Another tip. Composite 40% armor is useless if the HAM is too high. I have sold many a set of 28-30% comp that I spent 6 exp points lowering the HAM. Its a small reduction per piece, but add all nine pieces together and it makes a HUGE difference to those that want to wear it all.
I passed 15 million in sales last week, and although this new patch has slowed down buisness somewhat (hell, I tell my customers to just wait a week or so until they address these issues before buying anything else) I'm still pulling in 100k+ per day. Why mention that ? Only to say this:
Make quality stuff and you will never have to worry about money in this game. You might make a few sales on crap armor products, but word gets around and the death knell for any crafter is a bad reputation.

Wow i priced my MK3 way too low.
I charge 5k for MK3's that have 47% energy resist, or 32% secondary resists.
They sell like hot cakes thats for sure, I can hardly keep up... hehe I guess I know why. I charge only 5k because honestly these things break so fast they're totally useless for everyday combat, for tight situations, one-time uses and unknown repair success rates. I think 5k is a reasonable price.
Have you tried making your PSG components with crappy resources? Guess what? Makes no difference in the final product.
I tested this and the quality of the components does not affect the quality of the final product. Only the resources you use for the final combination affect the quality.
ok I just got PSG mk1 last week.
With tech 4 and the resources I had laying around, things come out around 12-14% resist across the board. I tried one out and even the mk1 with such a low resist stopped 60% of incomming kenetic damage. And with 1500 durability it seems to be lasting a LONG time. ive been through 3 or 4 battles.. taken damage, and its only down to 1100 durability now.
Is this normal?
Although its nice to know I dont have to worry about the quality of the subcomponents in the thing ![]()
The PSG needs to do more than reside as your belt and protect your belly button
WOW!!
I must be doing somthing right and at the same time something wrong...
I am 4/0/2/4 in armorsmith and i make what i have seen very good PSG's with top quality material, my stats im getting for an MKI is 16/10 and about 2059 condition and i can hardly sell them for 2500!!!
I guess what the problem is that most people around me dont know about the PSG's be cause i hear the same questions so i made up an email and sent to my self with the whole speal so they can read it and have all there questions answered... I have not tried the bazzar yet as i like people to come to the shop to see all the items i sell for every need. (very devirsified PA). Perhaps if i marked them at 4k each people would say "hey these must be good for 4k" for all i know they could be saying is " humm got to be junk for 2500" but i have the stats listed in the name (50 PSG's made in the factoy with pre made factory components lol) so every one is the best with no failures or un expected results.
I have worn the same one for more then a week with it not getting 1 repair. and i have enen given some of my best repeat customers a PSG free just so they can see how it works and tell there friends and others
.Now you all got me thinking differantly lol

Are they worth it? I never see anyone talking about them...is it worth getting one?
I got one a few weeks ago. Within about 8 hours of playing it went from 1000 condition to 82 condition. About 3 hours later it was down to 0. I honestly didn't notice any difference in safety. It might work better if used in conjunction with a ranged weapon but for melee and TKA especialy they are really not worth the money IMO.
