Thread: DEVS READ THIS>ARMOR MITIGRATION IS SCREWED!!!!! CSR AGREES!!!
Here I am, taking it to the forums, I hope that someone can explain why mitigration does nothing when it is supposed to do something. Or better yet, devs, you could fix it. Thanks for your time everyone.
could we get the stats on the helmet andwas itsliced prior to the smuggler revamp.
As for the CSR, dont put much value in what they say. There're about as smart as a door knoob. I ve had some really stupid answers from them which makes me thinkif they even play the game.

Ok, Im a little grumpy about this, and with just cause. I am a master Rifleman, and 1/3/1/4 Smuggler, so as you can tell, I wear recon armor. Now, I have a stat capped piece of UBESE armor, which can be seen in this picture: Helmet Now, as you can see in the picture, it is a very nice helmet, so I am obviously going to wear it, but you can also see I have hinderances with it. HMM??? With my professions I should have the amount of mitigration as follows: Accuracy: 10%+10%+30%+40% Movement: 10%+10%+20% Rate of Fire: 30%+30%+40%+60% Now, I dont believe that makes sense. From my understanding, the entire point of mitigration is to counter-act the hinderance of armor. Sooooooo, what is the point of mitigration if it does not do that????? So I filled a ticket. A CSR replied, and here is the conversation: CSR AgreesHere I am, taking it to the forums, I hope that someone can explain why mitigration does nothing when it is supposed to do something. Armor mitigation doesn't stack. For example, you get 20 percent, then 40 percent, and then 60 percent. They don't add up to 120 percent. Sixty percent is the total. Mitigations gained from different professions don't stack either.
If a CSR agreed with me that the sky was blue, I'd still go outside and look.

I had some composite armor that had very high kinetic resist, but in turn, required more hinderance than I could mitigate. I had no real problem with it, it seems logical.

this armor sounds like it was sliced in that little crack when they didn't quite know what smugglers were going to be doing as far as slicing goes. Armor from this period has more encumbrence than can be mitigated, but also has stats that will reach quite a bit above the normal caps.
If you don't like the armor then I'm sure there's someone on your server who will be more than happy to take it off your hands at an exhorbinent price.

Not a Bug.
Mitigations do not stack, the highest one you have is the one used to calculate Hindrances.
The system was left open ended enough so that if players choose to alter the armor too much they could, but it would cost them Hindrances. It forces people to think if that extra few % of protection is worth moving a bit slower.

Ummmm last time i checked the SMUGGLER REVAMP has not happened, nor will happen, we are told we will get ENHANCEMENTS but not a revamp, so yes the slice was prior to the smuggler revamp because we havent had one in over 2 years. but last time i checked the jedi have had like 3 or 4, but they have only been around for 1 year or so... something is kinda fishy there.
