hmmm, interesting points you make. Those are great observations made from the top of a credit pile that almost reaches orbit.

4 Hand Made Armor should be better then Factory made.

If they put this in, I would drop AS. Also, I like the fact that all I have to really look at is OQ/SR. I guess that makes me pretty lazy, I just want the factory to do the work and I don't want to have to study resources. (Or plug them into some spreadsheet that will tell me which one's best.)

I know that some crafters would kill me, but ... I really like the idea of a quality drop for factory goods. This applies to all crafting and meds. This nicely encourages hand-crafting over volume.

Factories are used to ensure quality, not reduce it.

Grinding was the worst part about armorsmith, and if I had to handcraft armor to make it the best I could, I would drop tommorrow. =(

And this is the most fun profession I've found, but that would be too much for me.

I didn't "grind" most of armorsmith. I came in with enough credits to stock up on good Ubese resources and buy +5 exp in tapes.I ground up to 3/0/0/4 and opened shop, making hand made Ubese.

I'm speaking as someone who has experience making literally hundreds of suits for sale - hand crafting for sale will wear you down quicker than you can imagine.

The rest of the stuff (making HAM matter, choosing slices, etc.), I like. Better loot drops are already in (unless you know some trick to crafting 30% negative encumbrance layers).

Personally, I like handcrafting more than factory runs. I started that way for a few reaons. One, I didn't want nor have the millions to spend on hide. Two, I custom color every set of armor. Of course the Devs took away one of my main selling points when they left in the coloring option on Composite after the two week time period. But I digress.

I like the handcrafting versus factory run idea just to make things different. Regardless of whether it every gets implemented, I'll still handcraft. I've got enough money for what I want, so I don't need to factory craft to bring in the HUGE bucks.

I would really love to see HAM mean more. I have a few discriminating customers, but for the most part, they dont care about HAM which means whatever SOE intended for HAM isn't working.

It’s funny because my main Idea about the HAM doesn’t seem to bother anyone. The part about Factories seems to be about split. But if the HAM part went in it would mean Handcrafting Armor using things like NS Layers and Segments would mean a lot more. I remember back in the early days when people first found out they could get buffs to put on heavy armor was thought to be a bug. As time went on and nothing was said it just became part of the game. I just have a real problem with running out and getting a shot to wear a tank.

I like your ideas, but the hand crafting thing is something I don't agree with. We have loot drops that are used for custom armor and those come out to be better suits than normal mass quantity factory runs.

We already have number 5.

Also, if they were to make all loot the same or better than what can already be crafted, what do they gauge this on? Everyone makes different layers and segments.

If they were to make it all like this, than we would also see a lot less drops. Then we would be back to "Not enough loot drops".

I do agree that us MAS need to pay more attention to HAM. It should be a more important part of armor making. Buffs do have a major factor in this, but that would kill the MDs profession as well. We are talking about one hell of a cascade.

Lower buffs andlower armor means less of the organic resources that the MDs and MAS depend so much on. Hunters can no longer hunt the big game solo (I hate the idiots as much as anyone else) and get the mass amount of hides and meat they want.A solo playercan harvest more solo thanin a group. Group is only good if you plan on combining your stacks, IMO. At the same time though, we could actually see a positive effect of more group hunting, like it used to be back in the day. I so miss the days of 10-15 ppl to kill 1 giant rat or wort. Or watching a squill kill an entire group of newbs.

These decision effect more than just our "boredom" level, it effects the community as a whole. As you can see I have 2 professions that depend heavily on the QUALITY of organics.

We can not force the community into a situation that makes the game harder and still expect the same level of attentivness to our needs.

Does any of that actually makes sense? I went to ramble mode.

I want the game to be harder, but not to the point people spend the whole time playing trying to stay alive. That's what fustrated so many of us in the begining. Took me a month to figure out there was something better than bone armor.

It has already been started that Armor will go though a complete Re-Vamp. What they dont want is poeple being able to Solo things like Krayt Dragons. By just making people have the HAM to wear a set of Armor wouldnt change things to the point were they cant stand up to a Womp rat. I know my Kinetic Sets arent that far off. By havning to drop a few more points into HAm and not base it will only drop it a few %. But the problem is on things like my Stun set which are 39% Stun and 67% base. With a good Eff slice this stuff is close to 90%. Its also weighs a ton. I cant see people getting a buff to wear a complete set of this. If we dont drop the % SOE will. Right now making Armor is a No Brainer. Take the Highest OQ SR you can find and pump all points into Base. With Stun I pump all my Points into Stun first then whats left go into base. There is no challange to design Armor.

Well I seem to be getting a lot of 5 Star ratings but no comments. So I would like to take the main idea a step farther and explain why I think the first point would change things.

1 Doc buffs

A lot of people feel that the Doc buffs should be nerphed and this would also cause them to fall more in line with what they should be. The problem is most PvP Players I know simply crank down their secondary stats to the minimum and rely on the buffs to even play. This means secondary stats really mean nothing.

2 ID Skill

This would also give a big boost to them because people would be constantly changing their stats to match their Armor.

3 Resources

It’s a constant search for the Highest OQ and SR only. With HAM Meaning something you would now have to take a closer look at the MA of a resource. If a resource were close in OQ SR but the MA had a big difference then you would have to consider this.

I’m just so tired of simply searching for the Highest OQ SR resource and stockpiling millions and simply putting all my Points into Base resist with the remainder into HAM. I would love the chance to actually have to work with all the items of my Armor from the layer and Segments to the Final Assembly to create the best Armor.
