A guildie picked up a set of 9 identical 10% base NS Layers (I know I know...I was tempted to talk him into giving them to me for free)...what would be the best use for them and how much are they worth?

Definately RIS. A little overkill for comp because of there worth.

Because up to 3 layers can go into a segment, and an armorsmith with horrible resources can make over 10% base comp segments.

it will depend on your server, but i remember paying 2.5 million for 11 same serial 10% layers

Cuz even the crappiest armorsmith can make 30% base segs. Good ones are 33-34%. Also Segments and Layers are totally different, thats another discussion though.

But composite is better than RIS...

Why do people not make more uber composite with things like this, rather than an armour that, while rare, is basically glorified ubese?

It'd be sort of like a weaponsmith getting a set of 10 +100 damage Nightsister vibro motors and making 5 NS energy lances out of them, rather than VKs.

because of its look, and why not make it uber while you are at it. hehe. also ris has a great advantage for looted layers over comp.. each piece of ris only needs one armor segment. you can make an ris chest with one 10% ns layer, you would need at least 5 to make a comp chest.

perfectly stated... you waste less layers and get more armor...

what do you consider uber composite? 40%+ stun? Quad80? Elec80Base80?

if you made 40%+ stun.. you would lose a stun layer putting in the NS layer... dropping stun to abuot 26-7

if you made Quad80 you would lose a layer to the NS layer adn only have triple80... and this wouldnt be useful for PvP

if you made Elec80Base80 you wouldnt have stun covered and if you had a bad slice... you were probably better off just buying Elec80/base70-1 and slicing a 90%base suit anyways...
