I had 3 segments left from my last run of this, so I made a helmet especially for you
To think, I've only had this on my vendor for a month.
Beautiful armor, I just wish I'd thought of putting QUAD in my thread title instead of listing the specific resistances and assuming people would figure things out. Oh well, live and plagiarize.
And yes, I could've gotten 73 base, but staying at 72 allowed me to put 4 points into HAM on the final combine.

Just remember, when you make 80 Ele/80 En/80 Kin/13 Stun it's called X-Armor. EKS layers, pronounce it and it sounds like X, and anything with X sells better.

Keuller,

Are you claiming that I stole your idea or something? I have never even seen your shop or any of your armor. I do remember your name from a long time ago, but that's about it. There is plenty of business for everyone, so I don't understand where the jealousy comes from.

Not meaning to flame or anything. But, isn't the idea of quad armor is to lower HAM not increase base. What good is it to have heat, cold, or acid that is easily sliced to 90% base? Yes it's semi-dificult to make but as a user I would preffer to have higher Kinetic, Energy.....

Ya, I took one look at that armor and all I could think about was the crappy sliced armor I get that ends up at 80% base and never sells.

And how much armor that the general gaming community uses do you think is actually sliced? I almost never use sliced armor and im an armorsmith. That is nice stuff greyskill, but I have seen stuff like that in the past. But it has been a while. I think he made this stuff more for the general public that does not want to worry about getting his armor sliced

Thanks for the good word, Romulas. The reason that I made the armor was so that folks could slice it if they wanted, but if they chose not to slice it, it would still cover just about everything that they would need. If it is sliced, an encumbrence slice would actually be preferred to an effectiveness slice. The truth is that a player can go up against Nightsisters and krayt dragons with 80% effectiveness and not notice a difference between that and 90%.

I've had no problems selling it on Bloodfin. As a matter of fact, it has blown everything else out of the water.

Actually, in high-end PvP or PvE the difference between 80% armour and 90% armour is 50% more damage taken with 80% armour.

A hit for 1000 damage 0-AP gets reduced to 500 damage by the light armour rating then to 50 damage by 90% armour protection.
A hit for 1000 damage 0-AP gets reduced to 500 damage by the light armour rating then to 100 damage by 80% armour protection.

50% more protection against the most common damage types (kinetic and energy) is pretty significant.

Wolfguy,

What I meant to say was that as good as the armor, foodand buffs are these days, players really don't notice a difference. In a couple of months, this may change, but for now, this is the case.

With 73% base, even with a with the lowest effective slice which is 11%.Single special resistwill come out at 81% base. I still don't get it.....why? I understand it's hard to make. I have made some but, for a user it's still inferior. And don't say most people are too lazy to find a slicer. Give me a break. Unsliced armor is an unfinished product.

I hardly ever wear sliced armor either (aside from on my main)... no sense wasting time and money getting armor sliced when it's fine without a slice. I think lower encumbrance would've been better than shooting for higher base on the Quad sets, but either way, with a four-piece set encumbrance is low. For the casual gamer with decent knowledge of the game, the Quad armor would work quite well for them. There are many combinations that could work better, (kin/acid for grinding creatures, kin for krayt hunting, stun/highbase for ns, etc.) but those are fashioned to a particular type of hunting. Kinetic, Energy, Elec, Blast, ... decent for PvP (stun would r@pe ya tho), and good for killing NPCs or creatures.

And it's got the 'wow' effect, four 80% resists omguber must buy.

Not everyone has enough million to spend to buy 4 or 5 suits (probably more) or armor to get it all sliced up to 90%
