You go "wow" over 4-80% resist? It only takes 24% effective slice to get 90% base on 73% base armor. If you slice as much armor as I have you would know that 24% is the average slice you get for an effective slice. With 73% base 1 out of 3 to 4 pcs of armor will turn out 90% base. 1 out of 2 pcs of armor will have more than 80% resist. Like I say why? Even with just single special resist in Kinetic you would have superior amor to quad with every slice.

I hardly ever wear sliced armor either (aside from on my main)... no sense wasting time and money getting armor sliced when it's fine without a slice. I think lower encumbrance would've been better than shooting for higher base on the Quad sets, but either way, with a four-piece set encumbrance is low. For the casual gamer with decent knowledge of the game, the Quad armor would work quite well for them. There are many combinations that could work better, (kin/acid for grinding creatures, kin for krayt hunting, stun/highbase for ns, etc.) but those are fashioned to a particular type of hunting. Kinetic, Energy, Elec, Blast, ... decent for PvP (stun would r@pe ya tho), and good for killing NPCs or creatures.

And it's got the 'wow' effect, four 80% resists omguber must buy.

Yeah... I gave my guild armorsmith some rancor hides and it yielded 4 80% resistances. Previously, I also gave him some kimo scales that provided 4 80% resists.
