well here's teh basic break down of it to me...

All damaage is going to be two different types, basicaly ranged and melee (energy and kinetic). Then there will be sub damage types based off of different elements (acid, heat, ect.)

Based on the type of armor, it will either lean towards energy or kinetic. OR it will be mroe rounded.

Crafting wise, the new process is, you will make layers, then segments, which will go into cores. Once you make cores, you can put them into any type of armor you want. So in essence, all armors are going to have same stats, just different apearances. Although there will be a stage of experimentation at this point, which could change stats a bit.

PSGs will be changes to last longer, and now block a few hits, then recharge, then block more hits. Best way I could think of this would to be think of the way the shield generators work in Halo. They take damage, then after x amount of damage they wear out. Then they recharge and can block more damage again. And they will have graphical effects.

Also some things to notice, Light Sabers are going to be energy now, so I don't think jedi are going to be very happy about that.

thats exactly what I got out of it also, but when I read it i picked up on them saying that the appeirance will also be bale to be altered via loot items. this is going to be very interesting to see. I cant wait.

I still want to know the details of how current crafted armor will convert over. Is it worth it to make suits now and let them roll over, will schematics made under the current system even work after, will new resources be needed for the new shells???

This is good news, the only problem is i'm going to have to go back to making more armor, 2 bracers, 2 biceps, helm, CP and pants. but atleast it will be easier to make different types of armor. Now the question is what am i going to do with all my very good resources used in comp?

it will be answered when curb hits TC.... cross fingers... or hope our lovely correspondent can devulge that info

i'd take a guess tho that most of the resources will be divied up across the 3 armor levels and then across the 3 armor types...

9 possible armor types spreading our current resources across those...

not sure how wookiees will be hurt though...

I'm a little concerned that it looks like Mando will become craftable...

I spent a lot of cash and effort to get the very few pieces I have. I'd hate to see them become worthless.

Don't armorsmiths have to do a quest to become Ris certified?

Maybe Mando will be same way.

Could someone explain what they mean by this..

Only factionally aligned Armor smiths will be able to craft customized factional armor

Faction armor schematics are "limited use schematics" and will come from the appropriate recruiters, so no certifications in the Armorsmith profession are needed.
