K ..my Battle cores pre this publish were 6719 Energy and in the final R.I.S were 7038 Energy Layered .. I made some new cores with a couple of different resources and they came out 6834 Energy and the final product with the same 2 resources for the final piece Talusian Fibreplast and Chromium Aluminium comes out at 7035 Energy Layered .... anyone shed any light here ??

I'm guessing you hit some kind of a cap on how high energy resists can get on battle armor. And for the reason you got 3 less points in the resists even though you had a higher number.. No idea. But 3 points is such a small number when 200 points equals that of a few % points.

You must think of your layers in seperate terms than your cores. I am sure that you used inferior layer resources and better core resources in the second run - the problem is, that your cores will be capped no matter what layering you apply to it. The only way to improve your energy protection is by using better resources for the energy layers.

what you want to do is go experiment with the resources you have on segments and cores. If you're getting more than 5600 on your elemental resists, use slightly less quality resources and bring your experimentation percentage down on one of them. Once you hit 5600, you're wasting anything, as it will add 400 in the final combine to get you to cap.

Since you're using layers, you might even try using one or two less experimentation points on effectiveness in the cores so you'll recieve the full +400 benefit. The rest can go into condition.

As was said, as long as you're capping your cores, changing your layer resources is the only thing that will affect the energy resistance of the final product. 6600 cores and 6800 will produce the same results. Now, assuming your cores are capped, I've no idea why you'd get that small discrepancy in the finished product if you're using the same layers. A buff, the alumninum and the fiberplast would have no effect on the stats during the appearance crafting.

Long story but it has to do with current publish changes. Check the WS forums for details. The lower number you are getting has to do with changes to the way resource gates are treated with current publish.

But how does that apply to us? We are already nongated on SR and OQ. It shouldn't affect his armor resists. Only the psg's recharge rate are affected.

I did think this was weird, i made some assault armor and I knew that whatever stats of cores i had, it would increase by 400pts in final product. However, it only reached less than 300pts in final product. I guess I reached some cap and thanks for revealing that to me. by the way is there somewhere i can find how to cap my armor?

Thats my point my CORES are higher than my last batch by over 100 points so how when they go into the final porduct is mt R.I.S lower by 3 points???

Are your segments the same?

Are your Layers the same?

Are you using the same resources?

Buffs, no buffs?

The resource gates only affect unnamed resources (ie CD on Iron had a gate of around 650 or something. Pre-24 it was calculated as 550(my iron)/650 to find your final percent, now it's like 550/1000) So it wouldn't have much effect on anything named.

I asked a similar question a couple weeks ago and this is my understanding.

As you know you get 400 points from final combine, but, if on your cores you go go beyond 5600 on base caps as 6k is max then you start affecting the amount that will be added to your final stats on energy.

example

last night I made some R.I.S. my base core stats were 5605 which left me 395 point for final combine on the enrgy layers I added which gave the result of 7156 energy. Last week using slightly better resources my final base core stats were 5825 only leaving 175 points for final combine on my energy stat which did barely broke the 7k barrier.

In short, max out your layers, use slightly less than perfect resouces for the cores and get as close to 5600 as possible everything else should fall into place.

same sets of questions over and over again,

"I don't get 400 on my final combine, what gives?"

"I am using better segment and/or core resources and making uber 5854 cores but my energy protection doesn't go up to uber levels, it stays at 7135, same as for my 5623 cores, what gives?"

This is all explained in the stickies and in about 5 posts on every forum page.

You must think of layers and segment/cores separately. The final assembly modifier is a maximum of 400, there is a cap of 6000 base so it doesnt matter if you make a 5999 core, it will still give you a 6000 final assembly and in fact only add 1 to your layered stats if you were making a layered core.

Once you are hitting the cap then the only thing that will improve your layer stats are your layer resources.

My guess is that you changed something in your layer resources from one build to the next and this droped your energy value down by 3 points, wouldn't take much to do this, you would only need to drop 0.25 on each of the 12 layers to drop 3 in total so a minor resource change would do it.
