Thats a number I'm sure most of you have etched onto your brains.
180,000 units of hide
To break it down more specifically
45 x 1000 = 45000 units of dant wooly
5 x 3 x 1000 = 15000 units of scaley hide
Adv. Battle Cores
45 x 1000 = 45000 units of naboo bristley
5 x 3 x 1000 = 15000 units of wooly hide
Adv. Recon Cores
45 x 1000 = 45000 units of lokian leathery hide
5 x 3 x 1000 = 15000 units of leathery hide
Thats just for one run of each.
Come on people, make some noise!

Three full runs of cores would allow you to make 267 suits (89 per type) ...
Of course, under the current system, 180K wooly hide would let you make 857 suits of Composite.

Already broke down the resource costs of a run of faction armor, normal armor, and a special run:
total resource costs for 12 suits of Recon Faction (Primus Layers)
12 suits of Battle Faction (Primus Layers)
6 suits of Assault Faction (Primus Layers)
12 suits of Ubese (Kinetic Layers)
Neutronium Steel: 100000 units
Polymer: 193220 units
Gravatonic Fiber: 56000 units
Vintrium Ore:64000 units
Perovskitic Alum: 48000

Changind to generic Organics would in fact help. But I have been an armorsmith for a long time now and I can tell you that I have never, ever seen a stack of hides over say 50k.
On Chilastra good hides cost about 100cpu. I seriously doubt that these prices will go down. If anything they will go up. Please ask for at least a 25% reduction and the changing of named to generic organics. This alone will reduce our costs and more significantly our headaches 100 fold.
Thanks Cali! Go get'em!

Wow... I would recommend getting a network of scouts/rangers and using the trade forums. We just recently had a really nice server-bestspawn of leathery and had about1 mil unitsdelivered. Granted it was dath leathery which is EASY to get.

I'm not an armoursmith but am shipwright....looks like we'll be competing for Gravatonic Fibreplast and Perovskitic Aluminum.

I would not worry too much about the organics requirements, really.
I tried some hide hunting today on TC3 with a guildmate. I was Scoutxx3x, Master Swords, Master Merchant (single combat profession, Level 5x). The guildmate was Master Rifle, BH dabbler, scout (level 66), and we were able to get about 500 hides out of every Level 60 Worrt without Veghash. Had one of us been a ranger, we would easily have pulled 900 hides I think. Killing one Worrt takes about one minute...making our peak output 30k hides per hour. Anyone charging 100cpu under these circumstances is ripping you off. Nobody deserves earning 1.500.000 cr/h.
And do not forget: with the CURB system, you will probably be able to pull Level 60 missions for almost any creature, so unlike the infamous "avian meat" doctors desperately needed, but only dropped in pityful amounts, I guess you won't have that much of a problem finding the hides you need, even if it's Yavinian Scaley or Dathomirian Wooly.
Oh, and maybe a bit higher prices than now will give customers an incentive to look at condition...which would be good for the 12-pointers.Message Edited by NikkiT on 04-23-2005 09:42 PM
Now THIS could be some good news. If the harvest per creature has been increased, the organic requirements might not be as onerous as they seem. Time will tell, it seems.

45k of Naboo Bristley is just INSANE. What scout/ranger would subject themselves to the utter boredom of having to kill ikopis/shaupauts/veermoks etc to collect that amount of hide? The Dant wool and Lokian leather are a bit easier and quicker to get in larger quantities, but this naboo bristley would make me want to slit my wrists. Chinese water-torture seems like more fun IMO.

I think removing the planet specifics would help a lot, and don't really have a problem with them splitting it into scaley/leathery/wooly
although I would like numbers reduced

Changing it from specific to generic makes it easier to get. That still doesn't help with that fact that it takes 15k to make a fully layered suit and 4300 to make a non-layered suit.
To me this is our top problem.

The Naboo Bristley is the real killer in my opinion.
At least Dant Wooly and Lok Leathery can be harvested in reasonable amounts. Altho one thing that does concern me is how much longer it seems to take to kill mobs/lairs in the new combat system.....that'll surely lower the amounts of huntables we will be able to gather?

you have concerns, great, we all do, but are you not a businessman too? The people that should be up in arms are the regular players, not us. I will make armor, and guess what, I am not going to eat the cost. I will pay whatever it takes to get my hides and get my resources. I pass on the cost to the customers.
Armor prices will go up if current stuff is left unchanged. People will want armor, and if there is less hides to go around there will be less armor, and thus higher prices. I will do fine if no changes are made and stuff stays as is, but prices will be adjusted accordingly.
Also, there are a ton of stuff that need generic hides, don't you have a stash of hides? I have prob 400k leathery, 300k bristley, 300k wooly, 150k scaley etc. Use that, sell some armor, buy some more etc
we are businessman here too, get a little creative if you have to
