you have concerns, great, we all do, but are you not a businessman too? The people that should be up in arms are the regular players, not us. I will make armor, and guess what, I am not going to eat the cost. I will pay whatever it takes to get my hides and get my resources. I pass on the cost to the customers.

Armor prices will go up if current stuff is left unchanged. People will want armor, and if there is less hides to go around there will be less armor, and thus higher prices. I will do fine if no changes are made and stuff stays as is, but prices will be adjusted accordingly.

Also, there are a ton of stuff that need generic hides, don't you have a stash of hides? I have prob 400k leathery, 300k bristley, 300k wooly, 150k scaley etc. Use that, sell some armor, buy some more etc

we are businessman here too, get a little creative if you have to

Armor prices will go up. And I agree that the combatants should be up in arms over this. I mean would be if Ihad to pay 2 mil for a suit of armor that is half as effective and lasts about 75% less than what is currently out there.

I made a post about it on my galaxy's forum. The reply... time to go TK.

The question is, is this everyone's top concern.

Now here's the big question...we may have to compromise with the Devs a bit. If I can't get organic requirements dropped again, can we at least live with maybe getting them changed to non-specific resources, a.k.a. Wooly or Bristly, instead of Dath wooly, or somesuch? Asking as a worst case scenario in case I get told "No, I'm not going to cut organics further."

That would be the ideal solution, IMO. Ditch the planetary-specific requirements and just let us use generic leathery, wooly, and bristley or scaley hides. Not only will this let us use most of our current organic stocks, but it will provide more opportunities for good hide spawns to occur, which means more opportunities for the scout/ranger folks to get well paid for their harvests. I know I'm not going to pay a lot for junk hide, but that's what the planetary-specific system would require.

Currently, the only crafted items in the game that depend on planetary-specific creature resources for which quality matters are:

  • Pet Stim C

  • Kashyyykian Hunting Armor

  • Kashyyykian Black Mountain Armor

  • Kashyyykian Cermonial Armor (Advanced Segments)

  • Padded Armor

How often are any of these made? I only started making Kashyyykian Hunting armor when Bloodfin had consecutive good spawns of Tatooine Wooly and Lokian Leathery. The Yavin IV Wooly requirement for Advanced Padded segments was always horrendously onerous.

I would not worry too much about the organics requirements, really.

I tried some hide hunting today on TC3 with a guildmate. I was Scoutxx3x, Master Swords, Master Merchant (single combat profession, Level 5x). The guildmate was Master Rifle, BH dabbler, scout (level 66), and we were able to get about 500 hides out of every Level 60 Worrt without Veghash. Had one of us been a ranger, we would easily have pulled 900 hides I think. Killing one Worrt takes about one minute...making our peak output 30k hides per hour. Anyone charging 100cpu under these circumstances is ripping you off. Nobody deserves earning 1.500.000 cr/h.

And do not forget: with the CURB system, you will probably be able to pull Level 60 missions for almost any creature, so unlike the infamous "avian meat" doctors desperately needed, but only dropped in pityful amounts, I guess you won't have that much of a problem finding the hides you need, even if it's Yavinian Scaley or Dathomirian Wooly.

Oh, and maybe a bit higher prices than now will give customers an incentive to look at condition...which would be good for the 12-pointers.

Already broke down the resource costs of a run of faction armor, normal armor, and a special run:

total resource costs for 12 suits of Recon Faction (Primus Layers)

12 suits of Battle Faction (Primus Layers)

6 suits of Assault Faction (Primus Layers)

12 suits of Ubese (Kinetic Layers)

12 suits of Marauder (Kinetic Layers)

6 suits of Comp (Kinetic Layers)

35 suits of Comp (Energy Layers)

Multiply that by lets say lowend cost 30 cpu: 2,317,800. Divide that by 95 suits:

$24, 397.89 added cost to each suit

thats not too bad....but on Flurry...the top end armorsmiths used to pay 100cpu + for good wooly even reaching 300 cpu at times...same with avian for docs

So if we're supposed to be making it more profitable for people to hunt creature resources...why change the requirements...already the prices have dropped on hide that would have produced a hell of alot more cash to the ranger/scout...and they don't need to hunt much avian meat anymore right?

I used to sell ham sliced pieces for 5k per...great for grinding

with the added non-creature resources I'll have to up my lowend costs

with the added non-creature resources PLUS the added named creature resources I'll have to up my high-end which was 250k per 90% piece

So if we're supposed to be stabilizing the economy why would we make it harder to gather the resources and harder to get more suits out? Wouldn't that make the demand higher and thus the prices per suit?

And wouldn't the top armorsmiths still be ganking all the resources...so how is it supposed to help new armorsmiths...the up and comers will still be in the same situation as they were with the old system

Just a few ranting thoughts of mine...hoping someone can help by pointing out any mistakes I may have made here in calculations or opinions
