I'm havin alot of trouble gettin XP, right now I almost have techniques two, but i'm stuck and once i get that then i need 350k...

I know you can't master this in a week unlike starting professions but I still think i'm goin too slow. I've gone to dantooine, Lok, and Endor, yet out of all those i got a total of only 350k, not even enough for techniques one and two.

So, if you have any tips, please post them.

Okay, here's the situation. I created a crafting macro like this

SETUP

Place your crating tools in row one

Place macros in row 2

CODE

/ui action toolbarSlot00; (Call the crafting tool in slot 1)

/selectDraftSchematic 85; (Schematic Number for AUK)

/pause 5; (Enter resources)

/nextCraftingStage;

/nextCraftingStage;

/createPrototype practice no item;

/createPrototype practice no item;

/pause 3;

/ui action toolbarSlot13; (Select the next macro)

Now, each macro calls the next macro, so that I an infinite loop until I type /dump to kill the process

Now, I ran this for a bit, before I noticed a problem. I have 5 crafting tools in this scenarion, 2 generic and 3 weapon/droid/generic, and I was only getting XP from the 2 generic, not the 3 weapon/droid/generic. I haven't checked to see if I have gotten this XP since the morning server reboot, but I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem?

Hey dude, it like that because you are using the wrong tool, you can only use the generic crafting tool. Well, this work for me, try this w/ 5 generic crafting tool.

As of this moment, xp conversion for jedi is crap, everyone is better off NOT playing their jedi or experimenting because I gaurentee you, you will end up dead with xp loss. Its NOT worth it, play on alts while devs fix these stupid bugs, the bugs they should've fixed before the CU went live but got impatiant and said wth.

Yeah, I experienced similar frustrations today. I took my pistoleer toon out the the Blue Leaf Temple and started attacking variousklikniks (previously a good way to get XP) and getting my ass kicked by the ones that were in groups (I don't have any armor worth using anymore, so I wasn't wearing any), and then I noticed that I was only getting one XP per kill! I also used to be able to stand on the top ledge and shoot the klikniks down in the pit, but pistols don't reach that far anymore.

I haven't really figured out what to hunt for XP yet (though I haven't really played with it much yet)--I suppose it probably depends on your current combat level and how it compares with the mob you want to fight, but if anybody has anyinfo or suggestions, I'd appreciate hearing them. I can just see it now when the double-XP week starts next week--instead of getting 1 XP per kill, I'll be getting 2 XP per kill...

Last night was the first time I went hunting something big in post-CU. A total of 8 of us on Dantooine for a little over an hour I got between 100K and 200K XP. The only reason I'm not sure of the amount is that I wasn't sure the XP I had before I started. I know I got 100K minimum. The group was me, a level 63 with one other lower then me and the rest were 80's. No one died but there were a few incaps. I went solo hunting earlier and didn't get any good XP so the grouping thing seems to be the ticket.

The thing about getting xp is you have to check your combat level vs. the creatures combat level now. You can't just run up and shoot just anything anymore. It goes by con color now. If what you are fighting cons:

Grey = 1 xp.

Green =A Few More but not alot

Blue = Full XP

White = Same Level as you and full XP

Yellow = One Level above you and XP is about half of what you would get for Blue and White

Red to Purple = Instant Death and cloning will be needed.

You can still solo in this game, but for us Pistoleers its single creatures combat now when soloing. If you pull more than one, your going down. Plus, you have to learn your different shots and use them to the best possible combination now. This game has gone from everyone being tanks with guns to a thinking man's game. Strategy plays a big role now. Just remember this game is not the same game it was last week. It is a totally new game now. Also, armor does play a big part in staying alive now too. Ya we got the ugly stuff, but some armor is better than no armor. At least if you don't want to wear the armor get yourself a good PSG. It won't help with kenetic, but for ranged it does.

This makes no sense...you get little to no xp for killing creatures that are a higher level than you? I am a level 80 and went killing some rancors last night...dropped an ancient rancor (cl 95) and no xp whatsoever. I can see not giving out good xp for lower creatures...although its a little frustrating....but Higher level as well? On a bright note, while the CU has tons of problems atm...i am begining to enjoy it. Just a ton of bugs to work out!

Kill mobs that are around the same Combat Level as you... higher level mobs give more xp.

You can get missions from any player city mission terminal that are around your level.

Bear in mind these missions range fromtwo levels below your combat level to two levels above and there is a big difference in difficulty.

Think of the ones two levels below you as "Easy" and the two levels above you as "Hard".

You'll need good tactics, armour and weapons to solo the hard ones.... or just a bit of practice.

Badger, is this something specific to player city mission terminals, not non-player city terminals like in Theed? I have been trying without success to find any mobs that con blue or white to me. I've tried running missions (both destroy and faction missions)off the Theed and Mos Eisley mission terminals, and I've driven my swoop all over Tatooine and large areas of Dathomir. I haven't tried a player city terminal yet.

About 95% of the mobs I encountered conned gray, so I can't get any more than 1 XP off anything (very frustrating!). The only ones that didn't were some Nightsister Rangers that conned purple. Even Tusken Warlords and Adolescent Krayts are conning gray to me. I had to temporarily drop my master pistoleer box to respec some hard-to-grind skills in other professions, so my combat level is only around 67 right now, and I'm looking for a mob type that will give me good pistol XP to get me back up to MP.

Any suggestions from anybody would be appreciated.
