Thread: Advanced Layer Primus nerfed with v. 120884?

Today on TC5 (Chimaera) I made Advanced Layer Primus and was disgusted. I used very good resources and could experimnet to 87%. But the Kinetic/Energy bonus was just 43%.
Last time I made Primus Layers on TC-Ep3 was 2 weeks ago on April 9th. That time I was able to get +61 Kinetic/Energy experimenting just to 62%.
I seems that the effect of Primus Layer was cut in half.
Is this change new or was it implemented inany of the prior versions?

Considering the fact that primus layers where the only layers with no real weakness and in every way better than any other layer it's not really suprising they nerfed them a bit. I mean why use kinetic or energy layers than you could use primus?

Yes all advanced layers protection was cut in half. One of the Armorsmiths on this forum sent me a great PM on why no one would use anything but Primus. As there are no downsides to using layers now (beyond the extra factory time and resource usage) I had 2 options,a)reduce their effectivenessb)remove them from the tree. I went with the reducing the effectiveness route for people who still wish to use them.

So you've made it so the only layer that might have been worth making now adds no real bonus to the armor. What the.... Instead of making the other layers useful you've nerfed the only good layer to the point where NONE of the layers are useful. LOL Did a 3rd option ever occur to you. That being make the other layers such that someone might actually use them.

Blix mentioned "he supported a city from the money he made as an AS". I guess this gives him a complete understanding of the AS profession in his mind. However I would say that based on the design he has put forth he lacks understanding of the profession. Not how armor works, but about being a smith.

I would have selected B.
You think a customer is going to pay 500k+ credits more (just an estimate based on resources so far) for layered armor that provides really no benefit?
