first, does a psg stack on top of armor? does say a psg with 20% energy and armor with 20% energy add up to 40% protection or does the psg take 20% then the rest goes through and the armor takes 20% of that?
second, is if they do stack, is there a total cap for resistance you can get?

when they are are working they work to add an extra layer of defense ie.
XXXXX hits you for 300 damage
your psg mk3 absorbs 120 damage
your ubese jacket absorbs 135
this is in your combat spam info

your second guess is correct. taking your example, first psg takes 20% off, then your armor will take another 20% off the 80% that went through your shield. so with 20% shield and 20% armor, it will reduce your damage by (20% + (20% * 0.8)) = 36%. Not 40%. This way,, you can't have 100% protect no matter how good your shield and armor is.

I've never messed with PSG's all that much, as the stat shifting bug made them all but useless, but with the upcoming "Lightsaber protection" thing looming, I decided to try my hand at a factory run of Mk III's.....
My questions: What current bugs are afflicting PSG's? Have the Dev's stated whether or not the addition of the new protection will be retroactive on PSG's crafted before the Publish? What kind of numbers do customers usually seek as far as protections go?
Thanks

well depending on the resist of the psg you could actually take more damage wearing one then not.
PSG: AP0
LS: AP3
i don't see psg's being very effective against LS's

You have a point, though PSG's are Light Armor...still a two step difference though and with the limitations of protection (in the 40 range at best) of a PSG it may make little difference. Is the damage step that high between no armor and light armor with resist?

Well unless they changed it in the Publish 9 revamp, Lightsabers are only AP2. So with a 40% Lightsaber PSG (not sure how high they plan on letting it go), you would still see about a 15-20% reduction in damage. And Lightsabers wont nearly do as much damage as they do currently.

Hi, im new to AS.
I have a few question about PSG's. I made my first MK3 and Imperial Test Prototype last night. I was very happy about the Imperial Test Prototype.
Imperial Test Prototype
Con 2797
Special: 26% -Energy
Eff: 47% - Stun, Lightsaber, Heat, Cold & Electricity.
Is this a normal outcome for these type of psg's
I have heard that the lightsaber resistance wasnt working is this correct
Last question
MK3's, is it best to experiment on the base eff or the special
Thanks for all the help in advance.

1) Not done the imp PSG yet as waiting to do a factory run but those stats look good.
2) Some armor shows lightsaber resistance when in fact it doesn't have it. PSGs are the only thing w/ resistance. Not sure if is working or not.
3) MK3s and what to experiment on depends on your market. I make 2 types of MK3s. My 1st type is the energy npc shields where I max out the exp on the special. My 2nd type is for PvP where I max eff and also slice them and pray for a eff slice. My smuggler friend and I both cried when he did a 45% enc slice on a psg since psg's have no enc. Was his one and only 45% till last night when he hit a 45% enc slice on my comp chestplate.
People (as in customers) are still expirementing with PSGs. I've given a few out to be tried in fights and have recieved mixed results from players. I think PSGs will start to grow popular after the combat rebalance. The Jedi thing has already brought a few new customers.

I also make Mk2's. You may think "why bother", but they have much higher durability that Mk3's and can be made much cheaper than Imperials. I still get Energy up to 45% on them and they sell well to faction farmers.

PSG's do not protect against lightsaber, this is a display error. Currently no armor (unless mandalorian does) protects against saber damage.

what are the resource/subcomponent requirments for the Imp PSG? I have looked on SWGCraft, through all the stickies, and did a search, but too many posts to read through. Is it the same/similar to the regular MK3 PSG? I was going to try and run through these this weekend and wanted to see if I had the stuff.
Thanks.
