I was told that there is a cap on base at 80% (can't experiment over, effectiveness slice will take it to 90% max).
My question is, if I have an "Exceptional" Krayt segment with 100% base, will the final build come out 100%? Or will the cap prevent that and keep at at 80%?
Any help on this is appreciated. I would hate to spend millions of credits on these segments for them to be no better than a normal effectiveness sliced piece. Thanks.
Btw... here's a pic of the segments. http://www.mileshik.com/jpsleggs/exceptional.jpg

I'm afraid I don't know the answer, but I had to say... WOW. I'd love to know how these turn out in an armour piece.

yes it will cap at 80%
my suggestion is to find resources with high mal to use because you will hit 80% with the most rap resources you have and have all available points to lower HAM
personally I would just sell em for some ungodly amount

I would hang onto them. After the combat rebalance they could be worth a fortune. Also, as was stated above, it would be best to use different resourses than what most Armorsmiths use when making composite. Normally, you would want to use resourses that have high Overall Quality and high Shock Resistance, since those are the stats that matter for getting resists up, however, since those scales will cause the armor to hit the cap right away, you'd be better off finding resourses that are high Overall Quality and high Mallability, since those are the stats that matter for encumbrance.

Are u guys sure it will cap at 80%? I heard from other smiths saying it will be 90%. Since that is the max any armor can go.
Have u guys ever made a piece of armor with this kind of segment? It would really help if someone has done this with a 100% base segment before, that way I know for sure what it will do. But I do appreciate the feedback.

incase you're still unclear, 80% cap. 90% slice. no more 100% ever. proof can be seen from the 110% base acklay padded segments used a while ago... base capped at 80%.

I backup from personnal experience that it will cap quickly at 80, then put all points left in condition and HAM line. ANd then Pray the slice gods...to get it to 90

I'll 2nd this... I'm not a armorsmith but I know so much about it that u can only craft up to 80% period.
