Thread: WOW why is it that...

Ithorians get introduced into the game and their armor uses the same segments as the standard comp etc, and Wookie armor has what I consider a ridiculous list of ingredients that would probablly take the average guy a year or more to accumulate in order to make Hunting armor that is even close to comp? I'm sorry for the rant and if I seem ungrateful for Wookie armor but it just seems like our fuzzy friends are constantly getting the short end of the stick.

Wookies can't even wear any clothing when wearing a full set of armor like our virtually hairless friends, which means any CA's are pointless to Wookies if they expect to survive in any type of difficult combat. Not to mention placing expensive AA's on armor that wont last more than a few weeks at best is a tremendous waste.

I would like anyone else that agrees or disagrees with me for that matter to add coments ( constructive only please ) to this thread. /endrant

Is that stick made of Yavin 4 or Dathomirian Evergreen wood? Mind if I check the stats on it quick?

Yeah, Wookiees get screwed in the armour department but some is much better than none and I am making full use of PSGs

It would be nice if they loosened the resource requirements for Wookiee armour a bit in light of it also needed an expensive subcomponent (armour padding) made by tailors who generally don't have to experiment on anything and thus don't know too much about it. I am lucky that my RL girlfriend is a 12pt tailor lol.

The lack of ability to use CAs really sucks IMO. As a programmer I would say that it is most likely not too hard to allow CAs to be placed inWookiee Armor. Maybe restrict them to certain pieces like the chest plate and/or a couple of others, since humans cannot wear pants with comp either. Seems fair to me, and does not seem like a heavy programming effort. SOE?

Topping this before I go to bed. I would kind of like to see more responses or maybe even a dev sighting.

I can dream can't I ?

Well Devs got lazy and were looking at it short term I would think. If Armorsmith were required to gather all of the necessary components to make worthy armor it would take a couple months, a couple months close to the CU where armor is going to get rebalanced.

Wookies + Ithorians are both hurt, they can't wear a single piece of clothing as any other species let alone armor. So those, shirts, gloves, etc. w/ mods that sell for millions on the forums are worthless to those 2 spieces because they can't wear them. Their clothes can't even be looted I think, and existing clothes such as A'kuuan (sp) can't be worn. So basically, they're pretty screwed. All this new viable faction armor is really looking grim for Ithorians.

Anyways. you got your reply. Ithorians are a bit better off, but due to the uniqueness of the species, it's a sacrifice you have to make.

Lets not even talk about being an imperial ithorian, at-sts are what, like a million faction points?

as an Imperial in the command structure, i should be given a wookiee slave . . . to do things like, forage for food if i get hungry, clean my clothes, spit shine my armor, and grind AS for me

you actually get to be a free wookiee and you complain? you the last of a dying species, your fire is about to go out from this universe, and you complain?!

Shadowfire seems to have some nice wook armor I helped get this guy some of the hides he'd been looking for. Best stuff I've seen.

I agree completely that the resource rquirements for Wookie armor are absurd. I've been gathering...no...I've been attempting to gather decent wookie armor resources for months. In fact, I started gathering long before I became Master and I'm not even 1/2 way to having a decent supply of viable resources.

There are two wookies in my guild who are waiting patiently, and Ihate to have to repeatedly tell them that I just can't supply it.

Its possible its just expensive to make andd requires tons more storage which many armorsmiths struggle with already.

On some servers the Wookiees have formed their own guilds so they can make their own gear and gather their own materials

On the other hand if you can manage it wookiees make fierce Jedi.

my wook armor has the same stats as my composite. i hit 40 stun, 80 kinetic, 67 base and also 80 kinetic, 71 base fairly easily. i only make it by special order though because of the inability to change colors and also because it's a pain to mass produce.

Back to the topic...

I wasn't saying that good Hunting armor was unobtainable I have some very nice sets from Turp, but the price of said armor ( not complaining Turp your armor kicks ) compared to composite of equal stats doesn't come close considering I can go through a set of 400 +k Hunting armor in one weekend very easily if I do Geno caves , Nightsisters etc... while I can do the same thing with my Zab alt on Shadowfire way longer without ruining his armor.
