I agree completely that the resource rquirements for Wookie armor are absurd. I've been gathering...no...I've been attempting to gather decent wookie armor resources for months. In fact, I started gathering long before I became Master and I'm not even 1/2 way to having a decent supply of viable resources.

There are two wookies in my guild who are waiting patiently, and Ihate to have to repeatedly tell them that I just can't supply it.

are these wookies combatants perchance? I got lucky, my guild is a group of combatants, works out perfectly, cause they can pick up stuff while out PvE, ( All they need is at least one block of scout). the guild am in has 2 rangers to my knowledge and most pick up loot, some have dropped harvestors for me due to out of space. Basicly comes down to organization. they want armor, you need supplies, ask them if they have room for a little scout ( they can drop that when ever they need). at the same time understand how your supplies effect the end product.

I agree though, wookies do get the shaft when it comes to armor. :/ though I do agree with the balance, how the three peices go from light med to heavy.

what I'D like to see them do is, some wookie and ithorian "armor enhancement" (off say the Kimogilias, they tend to have the same stats on their loot drop as rancor). There is some loot hide drops that can be used in Lue of segs ( Voiltor and KlikNik for example), have that drop, scales for ithorian, and hide like stuff for wookie ( nothin worse then hair getting cought in zipper ).

You Wookies should come to Shadowfire, there are two of us that make Wookie armor on a regular basis and that is probably an amazing number on any server...and I still have Lorien beat with my 25% Stun/80% Kin/90% base armor

The wood is ok, but the requirement for specific hides from 3 different planets is the killer. That said, wookie armor has one huge benefit, especially from an AS point of view. Its Special is kinetic, meaning that your Stun armor will sell even when you get an encumbrance slice (contrary to composite...)

It's not just a matter of picking up some hide from your everyday creature harvesting. If you want just "any old quality" armor, then it is not such a problem. But most people want REALLY great armor, and getting just the right stats on specific hides and flora resources from specific planets simply takes a long time due to the random nature of resource spawns.

For example, when I first mastered Weaponsmith, I wanted to make UBER grenades that used Crism Siliclastic Ore. On Ahazi, at that time, there had not been a single Crism spawn for 1 month, and I waited 2 more months until it finally spawned. And then it was TOTAL crap! I could not find any for sale either. As a result I could not make competitive Thermal Detonators or Proton Grenades or Rocket Launchers. Since I only wanted to offer the best, I simply did not bother.

Moral of the story: Just because a resource is in spawn doesn't mean it is usable. This is why you hear people talking about it taking a year to get a competitive mix of resources fortheir profession.

I always catch grief for the pricing of my hunting armor... i make with janta hides and get 80 kin 40 stun 70 base and people say im gouging at 1-2m/suit.

80 kin 40 stun 67 base is easily obtainable in my opinion... assuming you have resources in the top 15% of the pool.

what was that guy pricing his 80 kin 40 stun 64 base stuff at?
