Thread: 400/400/600 Composite Possible?

I have a great set of encumberance sliced composite. I love it. I also can't wear it unless I'm buffed out and drunk. But sometimes I'm only on for an hour, and i want to zip out to my harvester on Lok, and I don't want to buff. So I drive out there, a mercenary camp spawns on top of me and fwzap I'm dead with a one-shot. So I want to get a second set of composite, for wearing when I'm NOT buffed, just travelling through dangerous territory real fast.

I have space for 400/400/600. Is it possible to get composite this low on encumberance? What if you used Tantel for the Head/Chest/Boots. Could you make it then? I don't care about the resists, I just want a suit light enough to wear with no vulnerabilities. (Ubese is what I had on when I got 1-shotted.) Is this possible or am I hitting the pipe too hard?

I make low encumb comp on my server 60% Effect/80% Kinetic, encum is 5xx/4xx/570 UNSLICED...After sliced almost all the suits are 350-430(max i've seen yet) Encumberance...great protection and almost anyone can wear unbuffed.

That's layered though, right?

I've done a LOT of research on this, and my understanding is that the absolute lowest encumberance one could achieve (pre-slice) with composite would be attained with:

Extremely high (900+) OQ & ML materials. Experimental Durability maxxed on the advanced segments--with NO layering. Then on the final combine, maxxed Experimental Durability again, and leftovers into Effectiveness. Correct?

It is possible to get low encumbrance, unlayered Composite into the 400/400/600 HAM range. But the resists will be much lower than that of layered. You can expect to see approx 65% Elec/55% Base for Adv.Composite-unlayered. While it's possible to get higher, you might not see 55% Base, more like 48%-53% Base.

Great! As I stated, I have a set of really great composite already. It's 80% kinetic, like 67% energy, and 61% everything else. But the encumberance on it is 682/630/698, and that's fully encumberance sliced. But lots of times, I don't feel like jacking up with full buffs and chugging brandy just so I can put on my armor to drive out to check on a harvester, or go visit a friend in a not-so-safe area. However, wearing ubese just isn't cutting it, because every hostile humanoid I swoop by has a heat weapon, apparently. I'm getting one-shotted a couple times a day!

So I need the AR1 and only one vulnerability. I could care what the resists are, as long as I can put it on without buffing. That means I have to get it down to 400/400/600, preferably pre-slice. My friend just got Armorsmith from a holocron, and I volunteered to help grind it, so long as I can make myself a few sets of composite too.

Well, here is the deal. My layerd suits that are 60% Effect/80% Kinetic have 60 more Encumberance than my unlayered Comp would. Thats putting all points into effect and rest into encumberance. But seriously...who wants 45-50% Comp with 400-500 Encumberance unsliced when you could have 60% Effect/80% Kinetic with 350-430 Encumberance Sliced Even the effect suits are 570 > Encumberance and range from 69-80% Effect.

These suits are made with 3 Layers, each having 2 encumberance and 2% Base/7% Kinetic. Thats an extra 6 encumberance on each PIECE of the suit.. or 6 * 9 total added encumberance. These puppies sell like hotcakes.

If you want to wear comp and have the 400 limit, you have a few choices.

1 - Buy a set that's built light to begin with. Probably around 450-500 range for encumbrance. (full suit) Get pieces sliced until you get something that has good encumbrance slices.

2 - Omit wearing several pieces. Maybe just wear the helm, chest and legs. Most damage taken falls in these areas.

3 - Have a set made using enhancers that lower encumbrance. ie. Night Sister layers/shards.

Of course, any of these can be combined.

It sounds like you've done your homework where it comes to AR and AP type damage types, so you're educated enough to know that you don't need much in the reistance area. The hard part is going to be finding someone willing to make a suit that'smade with these attributes in mind. I know I haven't been looking for resources promarilywithhigh MA attribute.

What server are you on? (please forgive if you posted it already, I'm in the reply window).Maybe a smith can help. I'd be happy to have a go at it. Anything to break the monotony of "tank" armor.

Another thought just occured....

Have you considered Kryat enhanced Chitin or Mabari? Both are very light and we can probably get rid of most of the vulns.

you could get a 30% kin/energy set of bone armor and that would cover 90% ofAI damage... and if you get the new loot schematic it call all be made with only 30 enc for each stat...(yes the whole set only has 30 points of enc for each one).

or you could just buy a 4k crate of pixie.... or just leave the armor on all of the time

I can hit that no prob with 60% base, 80% kinetic sliced. look up a 12pt smith. if you start at or under 600/600/900, you'll hit it with 33% enc slices... or, you could look up a good 12pt smith that'll do 600/500/600 suits for ya good luck

Why does everyone keep telling me I can get a really nice suit of 60%/80% with 600/500/600?

I HAVE a great suit of 80%/61% already, it's a little higher on encumberance, but I don't care, I'm buffed/drunk when I wear it anyway.

I want to make a 400/400/600 *unsliced* suit of composite, and I don't care at all what the resists are. I'm not even sure if I want a single stun layer on it. If I can get under 400/400/600, then yes I do. I just got my friend to master armorsmith (two hole trees in one sitting, ugh) so tomorrow I get to start playing around.

My unlayered comp hits 54% Effect with 4xx/4xx/5xx(maybe I hit 4xx on all this time i'm not sure). Its high 400's almost 500's tho.
