Okay, Ill give it a shot now. Basically, the lowest you can get Composite wise, would have to be made with NS Shards. Getting an entire NS Shard enhanced set of composite, using -20/-30 type shards could get you to 400/400/400, but it would be insanely expensive. What you should do if you want to get good quality armor at a low ham, is to keep your eye out for 10%base Krayt Composite Armor Segments. On Chilastra, they can be fairly cheap (under 6k each segment). I used some 15%base ones to make a bp that was 50%base with 226/50/40 stats (I know it was 226H, but not too sure about the rest). So, I guess if I had made a full set it would be around 450/450/450. Since there are no ham costs associated with Krayt Segments, I know that I could not get lower than that even if I had put every point into reducing the HAM costs.

Hope that helps.

LOL! I don't care about the quality, just the lowest freaking HAM possible! It's okay though, I can see that this is getting within striking distance. I actually found out that my friend has like 90+ krayt scales in his storage house, so I'm thinking about making a suit of stun-layered krayt-ubese. But since the condition on composite is still so much higher, I'm not abandoning the idea of the composite.

Through his guild we're going to have access to nearly limitless supplies of the top-end resources, with which to make guild armor crates. Tri-Stun Layered Composite Suits, and Tri-Kinetic Layered Suits (for PvP and PvE, respectively), making crates and crates of them. I'll see just how low I can get my suit of composite (preferably with a stun layer to kill the vulnerability) and post the results.

682/630/698 SLICED

That's my 80% kinetic/61% effect composite. How am I pulling 650 encumberance sliced?

I'll bet you could knock your kinetic layers down some on special and still get 80% kinetic.

I'm helping my friend grind Armorsmith for his holocron (just found out today, how convenient), so I'll be more than willing to make this stuff--for myself! I'm on Scylla by the way.

I really, really, really, really don't care what the resists are, as long as the encumberance is as low as it can possibly be. I'm going to get it encumberance sliced, but that doesn't change my goal of 400/400/600 unsliced. For materials I'll be going for as much OQ and ML as I can find. I want good SR and UT, but I can live with them not being amazing. I'm going to use unlayered, advanced composite segments, and experiment everything down on encumberance/durability first, and whatever is left into effectiveness. I hope I break the mark, a lot of folks keep telling me that the resists won't be great--and I promise that doesn't matter to me. I've got the uber heavy supa-resist suit already.

Another thing came across to me though. If you add a stun layer (even one) to a suit of composite, does that mean it has no vulnerabilities? That's pretty cool! Had me wondering if you could do the same to ubese! (Use acid, heat and stun layers in it.) Then I could have ubese with no vulnerabilities! Is that possible? I realize that would kill the kinetic resist of the armor, but it's a nice idea to me for an extremely lightweight set of armor. Like a PSG with high durability!

Also, can you use a reinforced fiberplast panel that has the +25 Wound Treatment/Injury Treatment tissue in it to give a piece of armor that quality? I see that it's not possible to put that into an ubese shirt (since it doesn't use the panel) but everything else seems to fall into place.

Several things here....

1 - With decent quality material, you can get a layer down to 1/1/1 for encumbrance. That's 3/3/3 added for triple layers, potentialy adding around6% to your segment base resist. Well worth the additional 3 points fo encumbrance...IMO. So at least give that a try...it just makes it a little better.

2 - Yes...if you add a stun layer, there will be no vulnerabilities. So maybe you can get the layer to 1/1/1 for HAM and a few points of resist for stun.

3 - There's only one layer in Ubese. You'll need to combine kryat scales with a stun layer to remove all vulns.

Okay, so the encumberance for the layers will just add directly to the armor encumberance? I guess adding 27 to each might be tolerable, and 9 I could live with for sure--and have no vulnerabilities. Cool--sounds like I've got my gameplan then.

Now to grind Armorsmith!

Thanks for all the advice and suggestions. If I had access to krayt tissue, I'd be making a set of ubese, but I don't, so composite it is.

http://www.imagedump.com/index.cgi?pick=setandget&tp=63407&poll_id=0&category_id=20&warned=y

here is a piece of composite chest piece made complete from 3 * NS segments and 1 NS shard (31% encumberences slices doh )

just completed making gloves and helm(using one 4% cold segment ran out of 4% NS Segs) gloves pre slice are have a 12, 0, 18 encumberence from memory 72% base, and helmet had 67% base with ham of 30,50,210 approx will post those screenies after reset, both gloves and helms are unsliced, so yes i believe it is possible but only with looted items

Eugee...I'm very interested to hear how your suits turn out. And hope you do in fact have access to some really good resources to make them with. Count on it to take a few weeks to turn out crates of suits for your guild. Unless it's a small guild. I'd recommend plannning to use 9+ factories.

1 - layers, 1 - segments and 1 for each of the pieces of armor. You don't have to have them all running at once to begin with. 1000 layers will take a few days (4-5?) For triple layered, that will make 332 segments (another 3-4 days?)if you use the same layer. Each suit takes 21 segments...so the final run will provide 15 full suits.

As the factories finish, you can make more layers, segments...etc.

Not sure about the times, but they're easy to figure out. Once you start the factory, examine it to see how long each piece takes.

Ididn't see it mentioned, but why not just make some psg's and wear one of those?

I used to sell meds in bulk so I'm prepared for the factory mess. Well maybe not on this scale. The amount of layers needed really was a shock to me, but what can I do? We were planning to make schematics for 1000 kinetic and stun layered suits, but from what it looks like, that's... 63000 layers for each type! So we're going smaller, with enough to make 100 suits. We're planning to do separate runs on the layers, so we'll use 7 factories to make the kinetic layers, then again for the stun layers. After those finish we'll make the 2100 advanced segments (either kinetic or stun layered) with three factories for each. As far as kicking out the actual suits, we'll get some 1000 schematics made, and just manufacture them as needed. It's a daunting task, but should be very rewarding when we finish up! Just waiting for the server to come up so I can peruse the guild resource warehouse.

see ugee if you use a that theory you get probably best i've seen is about 30% base krayt segment and this was exceptional, now in my case by using a 8% -9, 4% -5, 4% -5 NS Segments along with a -10 , -10, -10 shard my pieces were advance composite segments ended with a base of 37% with a ham of 0, -19, 1 which is lighter in every way than krayt segments except for the mind but then action is in teh negative area with a higher base. it's alot more work and lot more costly but it is possible.

eugee impossible to make schematics for armour(final combines) of greater than 45sets unless, the way i do it is i make 3 layer schematics of 1000 units, these are then put each into a layer, so you have 1000/21 (21segments needed in a full set of composite) gives a total of 45, of course you do it so say the 3 * 1000 runs were then used in say the chest piece would give you 1000/4 with would = 250 but you would need i 3 * 9(9 components in armour) for a total of 27 factories tied up 2 days just making the segment enhancers, then i would say another day making the segments themselves though only 9 factories would be required here. for me this looks like too much work better off with the first way i mentioned, also the krayt segs you were mentioning earlier can not be enhanced they go in the place of the advanced composite segments unless of course you mean scales which are pretty uesless in composite in that they move almost all base stats to exceptional so they can't be sliced. i pretty much never use krayt stuff in composite, scales are great for use with ubese as it is then easy to get 80% kinetic ubese along with stun as the only vulnerability.
